About this client/child: Eleven-year-old Freddie is full of joy—he loves laughter and is tickled pink by cartoons and bouncing on trampolines. He is fascinated by music, textures, buses and trains, and exploring the world around him. He's cooperative, autistic and non-speaking. He enjoys routine and expresses his needs with the Clicker Communicator AAC app. He has a learning disability and attends a specialist school. With some prompting, he gets dressed, washes his hands, and uses the toilet independently. He has a restrictive diet, so all his meals are prepared at home.

Overview of role: Your role will include school pickups, outings and capturing special moments on the family blog. You’ll help Freddie extend his AAC use, engage in new experiences and improve his self-care skills. After school, you'll head to yoga, gymnastics, swimming, music lessons or occupational therapy. Once home, you'll support him with his chores and evening routine. Twice each week, you'll start earlier to cook, do laundry, tidy Freddie's belongings or, occasionally, help with family PA projects. During holidays, expect lots of fun—music, nature trips, galleries, exciting activities and seaside staycations.

Who this job would suit: If you're organised, proactive, sensitive, buoyant and keen to explore the world through an autistic child’s eye, this SEN Nanny or Manny role is perfect for you!

What’s great about this job: This is a terrific opportunity to grow your skills while making a meaningful difference. His family, school and therapists will support your learning with tailored training.
