Title: Waking Night Carer / Support Worker Location: Highbury, N5 Nearest Tube Station: Highbury and Islington Wage: £15.00 gross per hour | £28,080.00 gross per annum, based on contracted hours. Additional hours paid at hourly rate. Driver required? Not Required Essential: Supporting children or young adults with learning difficulties and in particular ASD would be an advantage. Desirable: Experience working with clients with Epilepsy Start Date: ASAP Days & Hours: Minimum 36 hours per week, covering waking nights and day shifts.
Noah is a lively, energetic boy. He has Dravet syndrome which presents with multiple seizures and developmental delay causing difficulties with language and motor skills. Noah is also autistic and has a tube in place mainly for his medication. Noah requires regular morning and evening medicine and occasionally requires emergency medication to resolve his seizures.
Your role as waking night support worker / carer will be to monitor Noah throughout the night for seizures and wakefulness. Noah is awake a lot during the night, so he will require gentle comforting to help him get back to sleep.
This job will suit someone who has worked within a small hometeam set up and who is adaptable to working both nights and days. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in Psychology, SEN or OT.
