Our client Max 21, is recruiting for an experienced Male* On-Call Night Carer to join his care team. Max is a charming, charismatic, fun and very intelligent young man who has an acquired brain injury. The brain injury has affected Max’s memory, mental planning skills and ability to weigh up risk. He is independently mobile and loves to participate in enjoyable physical activities such as dry slope skiing and climbing. Max has dyspraxia and ataxia which means he does require some support to take part in the sports that he loves.
Max has recently relocated to a modern flat overlooking the Thames in a sort after area of London, he is living independently with the assistance of his support team. He attends university (2 days per week) and is working towards gaining a degree in music editing. Max works hard on his rehabilitation programme, he is determined and keen to continue achieving his goals. He works well with his therapist and they will continue to provide ongoing support and input for Max and his care team.
In this role you will provide support for Max, continually promoting his independence whilst ensuring potential risks are safely managed. Max requires prompts and some assistance to manage day to day life, household tasks, study, travel, attending social events and very importantly his diet and overall well-being. Max is very much a lively and active 21 year old, he enjoys nights out with his friends, going to local bars, gigs and eating out and you will be expected to accompany him. Max will require support travelling home from University, his classes end at 7pm. Each night will be different and once asleep Max will not require any support during the night however depending on the activities and events Max has planned you might not return to his apartment until late. In the morning you will support Max through his routine and help set him up for the day.
