About this client/child:
Our lovely client Georgie is 5 years old, he is very active, adventurous and has lots of energy! Georgie enjoys climbing, swimming, playing on his swings and soft play. He lives at home with Mum, Dad and his little sister. Georgie sustained a brain injury at birth and as a result has cerebral palsy, developmental delay and learning difficulties. He is nonverbal and supports his communication through sounds, facial expressions and body language. Georgie can crawl, bum shuffle and pull himself up to a standing position; he is a very determined little boy.
Overview of role:
Georgie requires full support to meet all of his care needs; you’ll assist with all aspects of his care plan, therapy, learning, education and play. This is a practical, hands on sole charge role that involves supporting Georgie in the morning to get ready for school and completing the school drop off and pick up in the afternoon and follow the afterschool routine. Georgie can experience difficulty with self-regulation, episodes of anxiety, sensory overload and frustration in certain situations so previous experience in this area would be beneficial.
