About the Client
Snap Care has had the pleasure of recruiting for Benji’s care team since he was 18 months old, he is now 11 years old, and the team is expanding! Benji lives in his fully adapted home in Rotherfield with Mum, Dad, and his 2 siblings. He has a real twinkle in his eye with the ability to wrap anyone around his little finger and has been known to be a bit mischievous and cheeky! He loves gaming, sensory play, story time and going for long walks. Benji is diagnosed with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and has associated complex medical and care needs including PEG (Tube Feeding), stoma catheter management, and airway suctioning. Benji is a full-time wheelchair user and uses Eye Gaze to support his communication.
The Role at a Glance
Benji is totally reliant on others to meet all his health, care, and medical needs, and requires practical hands-on support to participate in activities of daily living (ADLs). In this role you will learn how to complete manual handling / moving and transfers, complex medical care, such as managing Tube feeding, airway suction, and stoma catheter care, train in eye gaze technology, implementing therapy plans, document care notes, and update care plans. Not only will you have the opportunity to learn these new skills, you will also be an integral part of Benji’s support team dedicated to promoting his independence and reaching his full potential.
