About the Client
Elsie is 8 years old, living in her fully adapted home with Mum, Dad, her older brother, and little sister; this makes for a busy, fun, and loving family home. Elsie loves swimming, going to the farm, watching her favourite cartoons, playing with her siblings, and loves to shop! Elsie has a team of professional support staff providing 2:1 care day and night as she has Cerebral Palsy, is a full-time wheelchair user, has epilepsy and a PEG tube in situ for all fluid, nutrition and medication intake. Elsie uses an E Tran Frame to support her communication, along with sounds, facial expressions, and body language. Snap Care has had the pleasure of recruiting for Elsie’s team for 5 years, with many of her team long-standing members! Elsie at times can become overwhelmed, which can cause some behaviours; there is a neuropsychologist currently putting strategies and plans to support Elsie and will train all members of her team.

The Role at a Glance
Working alongside another team member, your role will focus on supporting Elsie with all aspects of her ADLs, care plan, therapy programmes, medical needs etc. A typical morning will start with completing a handover with the night care team, finishing off her feed, and getting up, dressed, and out the door on time for school. Elsie’s SEN Support Workers drive her to school (30-minute drive), return home to the house, complete reports, a quick tidy around, and then your time is your own (study, gym, hobbies, life admin etc.) You will arrive back to collect the car at 2.00pm, complete the school pick up, and typically home for therapy, or off to an appointment or planned activity. Mum and Dad will be home from work to take over latest 5.30pm, where they enjoy family time, until the night care team arrives at 7.30pm.

This Job Would Suit
You will be an excellent communicator, team player, and confident working within a family home. The successful candidate will have previous experience supporting young children with additional and complex care needs. As this role involves wrap around care, it is ideal for a SEN Professional that can use the 4-hour break during the day to focus on study, a hobby, or can use that time effectively. Opportunity to travel both in the UK and internationally.  Please note this is a non-smoking working environment.

Why You’ll Love This Role
Elsie is FabUlous, a very funny character and can wrap anyone around her little finger! This is a positive, supportive and professional working environment, with fantastic training, continued professional development and upskilling opportunities. Interviews are starting asap, so please do not delay in applying, as this is an opportunity not to be missed!
