SEN / Complex Care Support Worker / Nanny/Manny Required in Cranleigh, GU6. A rewarding full-time opportunity for an experienced and dedicated individual to support an 8-year-old child with complex medical and physical needs within a warm and supportive family environment. £43,680.00 gross per annum | £21.00 gross per hour.

  • Salary/Wage: £43,680.00 Gross Per Annum | £21.00 Gross Per Hour
  • Driving Requirements: Yes, you must have own transport to access family home, mileage paid when on duty.
  • Essential: Experience supporting children or young people with complex medical and/or physical disabilities. Confident providing personal care, administering medication and following care plans. Experience supporting gastrostomy/PEG care, epilepsy and/or neurological conditions. Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to undertake training).
    Desirable: Experience supporting children with progressive neurological or life-limiting conditions. Experience working alongside community nursing, therapy, hospice or palliative care teams. Manual handling experience.
    Start Date: ASAP
  • Days & Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9.00 am – 5.00 pm. This is primarily a weekday daytime role. There may occasionally be opportunities to provide additional evening support, overnight stays or accompany the family on holidays. Any additional hours will always be discussed and agreed well in advance.

About the You will be joining a warm and welcoming family supporting their wonderful 9-year-old son, who has a rare progressive neurological condition. He has complex medical, physical and communication needs, including gastrostomy (PEG) care, epilepsy and reduced mobility, and requires experienced, attentive support throughout the day. He benefits from familiar routines, positive engagement and someone who can provide both skilled practical care and genuine companionship. This is an opportunity to become an important part of his life, helping him enjoy meaningful activities while promoting his comfort, wellbeing and quality of life. He lives at home with his parents and younger brother (aged 5), and is part of a close, supportive family environment. While this role is focused solely on supporting him, you will be working within a warm household where teamwork, kindness and communication are highly valued.

The Role at a Glance This is a full-time role providing consistent daily support within the family home and community. You will support with all aspects of care, including PEG/gastrostomy care, medication administration, monitoring and responding appropriately to seizures and neurological symptoms, personal care, mobility support, daily routines and engaging activities. The role involves working closely with the family to provide dependable, proactive support and helping to create a safe, positive and structured environment. Above all, we are looking for someone who can bring warmth, kindness, fun and companionship alongside the practical aspects of care. Whilst the core hours are weekday daytime hours, flexibility to offer additional support for occasional evenings, weekends, overnight stays and family holidays would be highly valued. Any additional hours would be discussed and agreed in advance.

This Job Would Suit This position would suit someone experienced, compassionate and highly reliable, with a strong background supporting children or young people with complex medical and physical needs. The ideal candidate will be calm under pressure, attentive and confident managing PEG care, epilepsy and neurological conditions. You will be personable, proactive and able to build a strong, trusting relationship with both the client and family while providing consistent, professional support. Candidates with backgrounds in paediatric complex care, disability support, children’s nursing, hospice care or specialist SEN care would be particularly well suited to this role.
