Martin is an energetic, active and engaging 12-year-old with good sense of humour and passion for life. He is extremely sporty and plays wheelchair tennis, football, attends multi sports club at the weekends and loves swimming. He enjoys drama and playing on his iPad. Martin has cerebral palsy, he is able to mobilise independently for short distances and uses a walker and a wheelchair at times. He has epilepsy which is well controlled with daily mediation. Martin lives with his parents and a younger brother aged 9.

The role is supporting both boys during their morning and after-school routine; assisting with Martin’s personal care, therapy programmes, homework and playing, and of course having lots fun! During the school holidays there is more time to organise activities and outings. You’ll need a good understanding of cerebral palsy and extensive experience with children of a similar age group.

This exciting position will suit a proactive and experience candidate with a sincere interest in promoting independence and working with children with SEN. An energetic, kind and fun SEN Manny who will meet the boys’ individual needs and build a trusting and engaging relationship with both children. Live in option available if required.
