Title: *Female Support Worker
Location: Rochester, ME3
Nearest Tube/Station: Higham
Wage: £13.00 gross weekdays, £15.00 gross weekends/waking nights, £26.00 gross Bank Holidays and minimum living wage gross sleeping nights
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car?  On duty, manual wheelchair accessible vehicle provided (training provided)
Essential: DBS check, passionate and enthusiastic about caring for people with disabilities, willing to undertake necessary training, able to work as part of a team as well as being able to use own initiative
Desirable: Experience in caring for people with complex disabilities, PEG feeding, driving an adapted vehicle, NVQ 2/3
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Guaranteed 24 - 30 hours per week.
Flexible shift patterns: Weekdays: 3:30 pm to 8.30 pm, Weekends: 8:30 am to 8.30 pm, Nights: 8.30 pm to 8.30 am. School holidays 24 hours: 12 hours day and night shifts
Family/Client Pets: 3 Dogs

About this client/child:
Jake, 19, lives at home with his parents, three sisters and three family dogs! He has complex physical and neurological needs and requires constant assistance with all aspects of personal and medical care.

Overview of role:
This job will involve taking Jake out for different activities and trips, always with another support worker. When at home you will support Jake with his personal care and administer his medication via PEG. Experience with this is an advantage, but training and support will be given. The position will require the support worker to use a hoist.

Who this job would suit:
This job will suit a caring, energetic, flexible and pro-active support worker who is willing to work within a small team at Jake’s family home. In addition, previous experience supporting clients with complex physical needs would be desirable. You must be a team player and a sense of humour is vital. You must also be considerate to the family’s needs and privacy when working in their home.
