About this client/child:
Jessie 10 is an outgoing, social and independent young lady; she loves painting, swimming and imaginary play. Jessie has cerebral palsy, epilepsy and presents with traits of autism, she has behaviours that can challenge and can become overwhelmed and needs time to self-regulate. Jessie is very capable and bright; she strives for her independence. Jessie has a younger brother aged 7 years old. This role is to support both children and will require the SEN Nanny to work in two households, to support the children in both family settings.   

Overview of role:
Typical SEN Nanny related duties such as school drop-offs, pick-ups, light household and nursery duties, cooking, shopping, walking the dog and running errands. Jessie receives therapy input, the SEN Nanny will implement therapy programmes, work on her targets and personal goals and continue to promote her independence. The SEN Nanny needs to be flexible, this is vital, the children’s parents both work full-time and one works shift work so your start time on some weeks can be 5am to ensure full support is provided with the morning routine. Your rota will be provided 4 weeks in advance, it will include weekdays, split shifts during term time, occasional weekends and full days in the school holidays. £15.00 weekdays £17.00 weekends gross per hour, additional hours worked will be paid at these rates.

Who this job would suit:
A robust, reliable and hardworking *female, SEN Nanny with previous experience managing behaviours that challenge. You must be confident in a sole charge role. The children’s parents co-parent extremely well, they require an excellent communicator that is capable of adapting to different family home settings and can continue providing consistent care and support to the children whilst liaising with the professional involved in Jessie’s care. For this role it is essential that you are a confident driver, there is use of a car whilst on duty.
