Wage / Salary: £108.00 and up to £114.00 (gross) per night, Weekday and Weekend Rates. Daytime: £12.00 gross per hour.
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? On duty, will need own car to travel to family home
Essential Experience: Supporting a client with cerebral palsy and complex medical needs

Days & Hours: We have the following shifts available for new team members: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9.30pm - 8.30am.

Tom, aged 8 years requires new members to join his small care team. He is a loving, sweet and cheeky chap who has cerebral palsy and additional medical needs. We are looking to recruit a calm, engaging and experienced support worker to join Tom’s team. The team work closely with the parents who are instrumental in their son’s care.
The role involves getting Tom ready for bed and setting up his bedroom and sleep system. Settling Tom to sleep and ensuring he is comfortable. You can then go to bed however, you will need to be alert to Tom’s waking during the night via a baby monitor. Tom can have settled nights but often disturbs a couple of times and can take a time to settle. He may need a cuddle or repositioning to help him drift back off into the land of nod. The morning consists of getting Tom ready for school and other duties such as light tidying, washing his equipment e.g. syringes and helping Mum put Tom in the car.
Due to complex needs, he requires help with tube feeding, physiotherapy programme and personal care. Experience of these would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given. Additional hours may be available to cover Annual Leave, helping after school etc.
This job will suit confident and reliable candidates who have flexibility to fit into the team and support the family with the care hours required and to potentially accompany Tom and his family on holiday.
