We are seeking an active, fun and level-headed female* SEN Nanny / Support Worker, for Johnny aged 9. Johnny is a charming and friendly boy who loves swimming, music and books. He also enjoys trips to the park, zoo, library, being outside and soft play.

Johnny has an Acquired Brain Injury which has left him with a visual impairment, epilepsy and severe learning difficulties. He is mobile and walking, although he cannot walk for long distances without getting tired. He uses a white cane when walking out in the community to enable him to walk safely. Johnny’s epilepsy seems to be triggered by tiredness/fatigue or the onset of illness and he requires emergency medication on a regular basis. He is non-verbal but communicative and enjoys social interaction.

We are looking for a proactive and reliable Nanny / Support Worker with SEN experience; someone who is confident, has plenty of common sense and is willing to learn new skills and ideally previous epilepsy experience. The role will involve building a caring relationship with Johnny, building a programme of activities and learning opportunities in the community, assisting after school, personal care, some assistance is required with feeding, light housework/nursery duties and cooking, as needed.

Mum is hands-on and requires a SEN Nanny / Support Worker who can work alongside, and support her, but also comfortable to take sole charge. This position will suit a friendly, flexible and kind SEN Nanny / Support Worker who can multi-task and ‘pitch in’ as and when needed; you’ll be a creative and sensitive person with good understanding of SEN and genuine interest in working with children.  A truly rewarding position to support this fantastic little boy.
