About this client/child: Elena is a 22-year-old who lives with her mum in a lovely part of North London. She is calm, friendly, and enjoys spending quality time with her mum, attending day centres, and engaging in music and physiotherapy sessions. Elena has a diagnosis of Rett syndrome and requires complex care. She receives all her fluids, medication, and nutrition via a PEG, and uses both a nebuliser and a cough assist machine as part of her daily care routine. Elena requires full support with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, hoisted transfers, showering, dressing, and accessing the community.

Overview of role: We are seeking an experienced *female support worker to join Elena’s dedicated care team. Elena has an established routine, with weekdays including scheduled visits to the local day centre on Mondays and Wednesdays, accompanied by her support workers. She also enjoys weekly music and physiotherapy sessions at home. Teamwork is a key part of this role, as a second carer is present on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Elena’s mum is actively involved in her care on Mondays and Wednesdays, providing additional support. Elena thrives in a calm and peaceful environment, so it’s important that support workers approach their role with sensitivity and respect for her preferences. Ideal candidates will be confident and have experience supporting adults with physical disabilities, including personal care and using hoists for transfers. Training will be provided for Elena’s specific care needs, including PEG feeding, cough assist, and nebuliser use. The role offers 3 or 4 weekday shifts, between Monday to Thursday, 9.30am – 5.00pm, £20.00 gross per hour. Up to £31,200.00 gross per annum.

Who this job would suit: This role is ideal for an experienced *female support worker who is skilled in supporting individuals with complex needs. The right candidate will have a calm, quiet approach and thrive in a collaborative working environment.

What’s great about this job: Becoming part of Elena’s care team is a deeply rewarding opportunity. You'll have the chance to broaden your skills through specialised training in complex care, all while enjoying a competitive rate of pay and a supportive schedule with great working hours.
