Days & Hours: Term time: Monday 2.30pm – 8.00pm | Friday: 3.30pm – 6.30pm. School Holidays: Tuesday and Wednesday 2.00pm – 8.00pm and Friday: 8.00am – 6.00pm
Family/Client Pets: Yes, dog.

About this client/child:
Sam is 12 years old, he loves playing outside, listening to music and sensory activities. He is very social and engaging, he loves to spend time with his family, peers, and care team. Sam has an Acquired Brain Injury, Cortical Blindness, Epilepsy and Developmental Delay, as a result, he has an established team in place who provide round the clock support in his family home and the community. Sam is mobile, however, requires close supervision as can become unsteady due to his vision and epilepsy.

Overview of role:
Your role as Support Worker will involve supporting Sam with all aspects of daily living after school and during school holidays. Following his care plan and supporting with his communication skills, independence skills, mobility, personal care, rehabilitation programmes and therapy input. The Support Worker will ensure all education, leisure, medical and therapeutic needs are met to a high standard. Hours increase during the school holidays; however, we have flexibility on days worked and start /finish times. Please do get in touch with your availability.

Who this job would suit:
An enthusiastic, compassionate, reliable, flexible and experienced Support Worker that has previously worked within a family home supporting young clients (0-14 years of age) with additional needs. The Support Worker must be a confident driver, with their own car and be a confident swimmer and non-smoker.

A comprehensive induction process and training in all areas of Sam’s support is provided, as well as a clear and concise support plan. The Support Worker will receive regular supervisions, so you will feel well equipped and have all the skills to support Sam. This is a permanent position with contracted hours.
