Jake 12, is inquisitive and enjoys factual books and TV programmes. He is very much into status, for example he’d be impressed by the latest trendy trainers. Jake attends a therapeutic residential school term-time and comes home during the school holidays. Cameron is 11, loves arts and crafts, cooking and has a great sense of humour. Megan aged 9 is a chatty and bright young lady who is very theatrical and enjoys imaginary play. The whole family enjoys outdoor activities such as dog walks and outdoor play. All three children were adopted 6 years ago and have significant emotional and behavioural difficulties.

This role requires a confident and emotionally robust *Male support worker to work closely with the children, both parents and associated professionals.  You’ll support the children’s overall development, social and emotional growth through individualised interventions created by a consultant. You should be confident to establish and maintain clear boundaries and re-enforce positive behavior. It will be imperative to build trusting relationships to help to unlock the children’s potential, promote their independence and help build positive relationships. The family are supported by a multidisciplinary team as well as the consultant. You’ll be working in an environment which offers professional support, guidance and supervision, but you’ll also need to be confident working independently at times.

This job will suit someone who is reliable, empathetic, patient and calm, especially when presented with defiant and confrontational behaviour. You must remain professional, emotionally strong and mature whilst presenting as a positive role model. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, consistency is key, so you must be able to offer a minimum of two years commitment.

This will be a fantastic opportunity to make a significant contribution to the lives of these children, by offering guidance and stability, whilst supporting both parents of this warm and welcoming family. To apply, please send your CV and a supporting statement to Rachael at Snap.

*Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for a male worker to work with our client.
