£21,875.00 Gross per Annum. Full time support worker (36 hours per week) role available supporting a cheeky chap in Hereford with complex medical and care needs. Permanent contract.

Essential: Experience in a support worker or HCA role, confident swimmer and non-smoker / vaper
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: 12 hour shifts day and night 7.00am to 7.00pm | 7.00pm to 7.00am

About this client/child:
Peter is a cheeky, fun-loving 8-year-old boy who enjoys playing with his siblings, swimming, and outings such as visiting the zoo. Peter has an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and complex medical needs which includes ventilation via a tracheostomy, oral suctioning, cough assist, bladder and bowel management, all medication is administered via his PEG as well as his nutrition. Peter requires practical and physical support to meet all his care and medical needs.  He is a bright, intellectual young lad and uses technology to communicate.

Overview of role:
Peter requires 24 hour care, which includes a waking night. Shifts are 12 hours and the rota is provided 1 month in advance. In this position you’ll work a mixture of shifts (day and night) and support Peter at home, out in the community and at school. Peter has complex care and medical needs however he is a fun and energetic chap who knows his own mind, strives for independence and wants to exceed his targets and goals.

Who this job would suit:
Excellent training is available for this role. You’ll be trained to a high standard in all aspects of Peter’s care plan to ensure you are fully equipped to meet all his needs. We are looking for a female* support worker who is passionate and wants to make a real difference and see a young person excel. The only essential requirements are that you have support work or HCA experience and that you are a confident driver, a nonsmoker and confident swimmer.
