Up to £20,000.00 gross per annum.  An exciting opportunity to work for an amazing charity organisation just outside Guildford, Surrey (GU4) which provides respite care for children with disabilities. Fantastic training opportunities.

 

 

 

 

 

Title:Full time Care Worker|East Clandon, Surrey GU4
Location: East Clandon, Surrey GU4
Salary:£16,000-£20,000 per annum
Essential: Genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs, team player, willingness to learn and develop
Desirable: Experience caring for vulnerable children/ young adults,  experience with manual handling, feeding aids,
NVQ Level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care. 
Start Date: ASAP 
Hours:  37.5 hrs per week over a four week period. Shifts are: 7.00 am - 2.15pm and 1.45pm - 9.00pm (with occasional 10am to 6pm shifts)
Training:  Full-training is given, as is the opportunity to gain a Diploma Level 3

Our client is a small charity providing exceptional home-from-home specialist short breaks/respite for children and young adults aged 0-19 with a range of complex disabilities including learning, physical and sensory impairments.

Founded in 1980 by a group of parents and doctors, this organisation is a lifeline for the families of more than 100 children and young people who are regularly cared for here, whether it be after school for a few hours, a weekend or even a couple of weeks stay.  

As a care worker, your primary responsibilities will be supporting children and young people with variety of learning difficulties and complex needs. You will be providing all aspects of personal care, support them on trips in the community, think of fun and engaging activity and promote their independence.

While providing positive activities in the community, you will develop strategies and techniques to help to address those behaviours and improve their quality of life and those around them. This will involve working in partnership with parents and other professionals.

This role will suit a patient, caring and friendly care worker who has a genuine interest in assisting children and young adults with additional needs and make a positive difference in their life.
