Days & Hours: This role offers the stability of an attractive annual salary of £25,110 which would be paid monthly based on an average of the hours above which is 34 hours per week. Please see shifts below*

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established and experienced team supporting a happy and sweet 7 year old with bags of personality. Jack has an excellent team in place who provide round the clock support. We would like to recruit a committed, reliable and flexible carer.

Jack has cerebral palsy and learning difficulties, he requires support to meet all of his care needs. Jack is a charming and engaging child who enjoys playing with his sensory toys. Jack is a wheelchair user and requires support with personal care, mobility and communication. He has a feeding tube in situ through which he receives his medication and nutrition. Jack also enjoys pureed food.

Throughout your night shift you will observe Jack, tending to all his needs as required. General duties include repositioning, administering medication, following his care plan and ironing his clothes.

During day time shifts your duties will include implementing his therapy guidelines, feeding and interacting with Jack, attending to his personal care needs and supporting him to enjoy leisure activities including trips out in the community. You will receive full training from all of his appointed therapists.

Shifts* Every week: Friday and Saturday waking nights. 10:00pm – 8:00am School holidays: Friday and Saturday nights, plus 44 additional weekday hours. Annual leave cover: Friday and Saturday nights plus 9 weeks of 46 additional weekday hours and 10 weeks of 40 additional hours. Times: School holidays: 8:00am – 4:00pm or 3:00pm-10:00pm Term time: 3:30pm – 10:00pm

Jack requires a carer who he can rely on to provide consistent reliable care. This position will be suitable for someone who is able to commit to the hours specified and to cover additional hours at short notice. Over time (over and above the hours stated) will be paid at the hourly rate in addition to the annual salary. Flexibility is a key feature of this role as Jack’s family are looking for someone they can rely on to adapt their working pattern to Jack’s needs.
