£2750.00 net per month. Are you living in Dubai? We have a wonderful part-time opportunity for a confident, kind and resilient Buddy / Support worker for Rashid 12, who is autistic, in central Dubai!

Essential Experience:Working with children with ADHD, autism, complex behavioural needs and anxiety 
Start Date:ASAP 
Days & Hours:Sunday – Thursday 2.30pm – 8.30pm, 30 hours on average per week 
Accommodation:Not applicable, this is a daily position for someone already living in Dubai

Rashid is a sweet and very bright 12-year-old. He loves to play on his iPad and has great interest in animals and geography. Rashid has two younger brothers who he likes to spend time with, however there can be occasional sibling arguments.  

Rashid is autistic and has ADHD, sensory processing disorder and suffers from anxiety. Rashid requires support with his emotional and social skills and can present with behaviour that may challenge and at times presents as aggressive. When anxious, he can resort to obstructive and oppositional behaviour and you will need to be skilled and sensitive to understand Rashid’s triggers and be able to deescalate and avoid unwanted behaviour where possible.You’ll need to be fit, strong and vigilant to ensure Rashid's safety. 

The candidate we are seeking will already be based in Dubai and have extensive experience with children or young adults with autism, ADHD and behaviour that challenges.  Working alongside Rashid’s parents and teachers you will implement a therapy programme into the daily routine and support him with his studies. The main goal is to help Rashid to manage his behaviour, take part in everyday life and improve his social and emotional skills.  

You’ll support Rashid with his educational and social needs; assisting with his school work, organising and encouraging play dates, physical activities and social interaction with his peers. This exciting position will suit a confident, energetic and patient candidate who will build a trusting and engaging relationship with Rashid and his family.
