Eesa is a charming 7-year-old who loves being around people and being the centre of attention. He will let you know when he finds something amusing; his infectious laugh echoes throughout the house! Eesa has a great relationship with his two siblings. Eesa has Cerebral Palsy and developmental delay and is fed via a PEG. He has severe reflux and needs to be turned twice during the night. Eesa is making good progress with his communication and can say some words, but he mainly communicates through PECS and facial expressions; he has fantastic cognitive understanding.
The family are looking for three support workers to join his current small team. Eesa requires 2:1 support and your role will be to assist him with all his daily needs. This includes personal care, stimulation through play, therapeutic input and observations, PEG feeding, arranging activities in the community and specific housekeeping duties related to Eesa.
This job will suit someone who is confident, reliable, punctual and can offer a degree of flexibility to ensure Easa’s needs are met. Individual preferences for working hours and days will be accommodated wherever possible, but at times you’ll be asked to cover team members for holidays or sickness; and of course, they will do the same for you.
You must work well in a small team setting and to use your own initiative. The family welcome people who are energetic, caring and nurturing. You should be confident to take the lead at times but also know when to take a step back. Clear spoken and written English is essential to fully support Eesa in his future development. The family enjoy going on holidays and there will be the potential to travel with the family, all expenses paid.
If you feel you would be a great team member for Eesa, send your CV now to apply.
