A wonderful opportunity is available for an enthusiastic, patient and caring support workers / PAs to work with John 24, who lives at home with his Mum and younger brother Josh 18. John has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, he is a wheelchair user and requires support with all his care needs including personal care, assisting with feeding (pureeing food), manual handling and following therapy programmes. John’s younger brother Josh has autism and epilepsy so this role will also involve supporting Josh from time to time. Ideally we are looking for a Support Worker / PA who is happy and willing to pitch in as and when required.
John is very much a people person; he enjoys socialising and keeping in contact with his friends through social media. He would like the opportunity to travel abroad, access activities locally and become more independent both in and outside the family home. John is capable of expressing his needs, likes and dislikes.
This job will suit a calm, understanding and engaging person who has a passion for maximising their client’s opportunities, promoting their independence and continuing their development. For this position you must be a confident driver and swimmer.
John is looking for two weekend support workers that will work alternate weekends through-out the year. Shifts times: Friday 7:00pm – 9:00pm Sleep in 9:00pm – 9:00am Saturday 9:00am – 9:00pm and sleep in 9:00pm – 9:00am Sunday 9:00am – 1:00pm. Extra hours paid at hourly rate.
