About this client/child:

Sammy is an intelligent, sparky, and social 7-year-old cheeky chap. Sammy vocalises his feelings and directions well and with a lot of patience; during our video chat he was asked who would like some cake and very clearly Sammy said ‘mama’. He loves story time, going to the playground, and swimming; he also enjoys making tasty salads for dinner! He can eat pureed food by spoon, with guidance, small amounts at a time. Sammy is incredibly determined, focused and strives for his independence. Sammy was diagnosed with Dystonic Cerebral Palsy. He has epilepsy but his seizures are mild and self-resolving. The family have recently relocated from London!

Overview of role:

Sammy is settling in very well to his Conductive Education school in Billingshurst ( where you will be required to pick him up from)  and he works very hard to achieve his goals. As SEN Nanny/Manny you will facilitate Sammy to continue his therapy programmes, provide the hands-on support required with all his self-help and independence skills, support with all his personal care needs, and encouragement with his potty training, arrange activities and explore new interests. His new house has a fab garden and space for Sammy to use his Wizzybug  and yellow tricycle! Shifts available include Monday to Friday: 3/3.30pm to 8.30pm, Weekends: 10.00am to 7.00pm, School Holidays: 10.00am to 8.00pm and sleep in during weekends.  When applying, please let us know which shifts you are available for. £15.00 weekdays | £17.00 weekends | £10.00 overnight | Gross per Hour.Updated on 30th December. Please note that shifts now available are afterschool, 3/3.30pm to 8.30pm - there may be some holiday hours

Who this job would suit:

It will really suit an SEN Nanny/Manny with a genuine interest in learning a new therapy or utilising their already great hands on Conductive experience. And please only apply if you are looking for a long-term position.

What’s great about this job:

A fantastic opportunity to experience Conductive Education and its positive benefits. Extensive induction, care plan revision and First Aid training if required.

Client/Family met by Snap?

Yes, Snap has worked with this lovely family since Sammy was just a wee baby.  I had the pleasure of meeting Sammy again via video chat. Sammy is so delightful, with a smile that will truly melt your heart.
