Essential Experience: Supporting a child with ASD and ADHD
Start Date: October 2017
Days & Hours: Monday to Friday 4.00pm – 8.00pm
Samuel 10, is an easy going, kind and energetic young boy with a love to exploring the great outdoors and completing puzzles! Samuel is diagnosed with ASD and ADHD. He has limited expressive language and his receptive language is very good once he has clear and concise communication. He uses pictures on his iPad to communicate his needs, so you will need to be techy savvy!
You will be Samuel’s advocate and support, assisting him with his after-school routine. This will involve setting up structured activities, working on his self-help skills and attending therapies. The family would like a candidate who is willing to travel, open to occasional babysitting and building a relationship with Samuel’s two big brothers!
This job will suit an organised, calm, reassuring candidate with a passion for supporting children with ASD and ADHD. You will be open to learning as the family are keen to try new programmes that assist their son’s learning.
