Joe aged 7, is an active chap and quite the performer! He loves dancing, creating shows, music and singing. His sister Annie aged 4 is a very charming and smiley little girl.
Joe has High Functioning Autism, anxiety and PDA. He has no ‘obvious’ developmental delays, however Joe requires support with his emotional, social and communication skills and can present with challenging behaviour. When anxious, he can resort to obstructive and oppositional behaviour. Experience of complex behavioural difficulties will be essential.
Annie needs guidance to prevent her mirroring Joe’s behaviour. She has also just started reception and is understandably anxious. She was very attached to her previous nanny (with her since birth) and may take a little while to accept the new candidate (hard to predict!).
You will be supervising with the after-school routine, the planning of fun activities for both children and helping with light housework duties including washing and meal preparation. Additional hours available during school holidays.
This position will suit a lively, hands-on, resilient, playful, compassionate, energetic candidate who ideally has a good understanding of high-functioning autism, anxiety and oppositional behaviour. Ability to stay calm whilst multi-tasking and dividing attention between both children will be important.
Please note, whilst Snap endeavour to reply to all applications, some of our positions are so popular this is not possible and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
