On-Call Night Carer | Hertfordshire / Essex, CM22
Location: Bishop's Stortford, CM22
Nearest Train: Elsenham 
Night Rate: £99.00 weekdays, £112.00 weekends, gross per shift (Changes to Waking Night rate of £13.00 and £15.00 if you are needed for 3 or more times per night, for periods of 30 minutes or more)
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? On duty
Desirable Experience: Cerebral Palsy, PEG feeding and epilepsy, nonverbal children 
Start Date: ASAP 
Days & Hours: 4 nights available, 10.00pm to 9.00am (This can be job share between 2 people), bank shifts are also available 


Ben aged 11, loves to be kept busy with games and sports like basketball or to spend time outdoors in a tent! Ben is an active, fun and engaging child who also loves to read. Ben has cerebral palsy, epilepsy and is administered nutrition and medication via peg. He is non-verbal and uses a range of communication methods and aids. Ben has a pump for night feeding. 

In this role you will support Ben through his night-time routine (10.00pm-7.00am,) and help him get ready before school (7.00am-9.00am). You’ll set up the pump and administer medication to ensure Ben is comfortable before you go to bed. You’ll be able to go to bed, however you will need to assist Ben should he wake up during the night. He can have a very settled night, but he may need repositioning or comforting if he is not well. 

The morning consists of getting Ben up and ready for school and assisting with his personal care, getting him his morning medications and breakfast. His school bags are prepared whilst he sleeps, including his lunch for school.

This role will suit sensitive, experienced, observant and reliable Support Workers with a real passion for supporting children with additional needs. If you are interested, please get in touch today and confirm how many, and which nights you are available for.
