About this client/child:
Our client Thomas is 18-years-old, he enjoys watching TV, trips to the local shopping mall and playing with his switch toys, arts and crafts and messy play. Thomas lives at home with his Mum and Dad and due to his needs, is supported by a care team 24/7, requiring 2:1 support for most of his care. Thomas has Cerebral Palsy, Global Development Delay, a Learning Disability and Epilepsy. Thomas receives his nutrition via a PEG and uses an Eye Gaze to support his communication and if he is asked to turn the TV off, the answer will most definitely be – NO! 

Overview of role:
Thomas requires an experienced Waking Night Carer to join his care team. There is a care plan and routine in place that you will follow. The role will involve hoisting, moving and handling, assisting with personal care, administering medication and tending to all Thomas’ needs throughout the night. He has a fully adapted chill-out room, bedroom, and wet room. Thomas is sensitive to sensory input and requires rooms with gentle lighting and a constant white noise background. This is a permanent position, offering up to 2 Waking Nights per week, the rota is provided 4 weeks in advance. We are happy to work around your availability and commitments but some flexibility to help cover annual leave etc is highly desirable. Pay rates: £12.75 weekdays, £14.88 weekends, gross per hour.
