Support Worker / PA in Ealing, W7. A full-time opportunity available for a professional Support Worker / PA to join a care team provided round the clock support to our client Mary. Up to £18.00 Gross per Hour

Nearest Tube/Station: Drayton Green or Ealing Broadway
Wage/Salary: £16.00 weekdays and waking nights, £18.00 weekend days and waking nights, gross per hour. From £130.00 weeknights | £146.00 weekend nights (on-call nights, gross per shift).
Driver Essential? Yes, WAV automatic drive for use on duty
Essential: A minimum of 1 year of care experience, confident with all aspects of manual handling
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: 36.75 hours per week, split into 3 long shifts.  Days, waking nights and on-call nights. Shift times 8.00am to 8.15pm OR, 8.00pm to 8.15am

About this client/child: Our client Mary, is in her 60’s and we have had the pleasure of working with her for a number of years. She lives with her husband in Ealing and enjoys a wide range of activities including social outings, attending events, planning trips, shopping, and being part of her local community. Mary sustained an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) several years ago, and, as a result requires 24/7, 2:1 support with all her health, care, and medical needs. She is a full-time wheelchair user, requires manual handling with support equipment such as hoists, sling and slide sheets, and communicates with some words, and also uses her body language, sounds and facial expressions to support her expressive language skills. Mary has complex health care and medical needs, and with the support of her care team continues to live independently in her home.

Overview of role: Your role as Mary’s Support Worker is to be her advocate, continually promoting her independence, enabling Mary to live a fulfilling life and to participate in her interests and hobbies. Her Support Worker will provide practical, emotional and holistic support, assisting with all aspects of her care plan, diet / nutrition needs, and rehabilitation programme.  You will work collaboratively with Mary’s therapy team, and closely with her team members and other healthcare professionals. Training, guidance, and support is offered to ensure you have the skills and expertise to provide the highest level and standard of care. This is a full-time role offering a mixture of days, waking nights, and on-call night shifts (on site), the rota is provided 4 weeks in advance allowing you to plan ahead, providing you with a great work/life balance.

Who this job would suit: A positive, personable and proactive Support Worker with excellent communication and teamwork skills. A confident driver (WAV) and non-smoker/vaper both essential. This role requires a robust, compassionate and intuitive Support Worker. We can only consider applicants with a maximum commute of 1 hour.
