Wage/Salary: £31,824.00 + gross per annum. Up to £16.32 gross per hour 
Driver Essential? Yes, full manual or automatic license
Essential: Experience supporting a client with complex healthcare needs, experience working in a family setting, and confidence to drive an adapted vehicle. DBS or willing to obtain one
Start Date: March 2024
Days & Hours: 40 hours per week. Days and Nights. Rota provided 4 weeks in advance

About this client:
Andy (32), is an active and outgoing young man. He lives with his family in a fantastic house, fully adapted downstairs for Andy and his support workers. He loves socialising, going to the pub, theatre, and cinema and eating out, and enjoys going to Mass with his mother, brother, and support staff. Andy has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and complex medical needs and requires assistance with all areas of his daily routine. All his fluids, medication, and feeds are administered via a gastrostomy. Andy is a wheelchair user and uses a standing frame and walker for short periods when at home to aid his physical therapy.

Overview of role:
The role will involve assistance with all aspects of Andy’s personal care and daily living; you must be confident in manual handling, providing personal care, and administering medication. Part of your role will be to research new opportunities and fun activities Andy can enjoy. A confident driver is essential as Andy also loves being taken on trips outside London.

Shift pattern: Weekdays: 07.00 am/08.00 am to 7.00 pm / 2.00 pm to 7.00 pm. Nights: 7.00 pm to 7.00 am. The rota is completed 4 weeks in advance and will involve working a mixture of long days, afternoons, and nights.

This job will suit a motivated, proactive support worker with plenty of common sense. You’ll have great experience supporting a client with a disability and understand the importance of promoting Andy’s independence. You will be an excellent team player and enjoy working in a home/ family environment.

The job comes with excellent ongoing training; 3 monthly supervisions, moving and handling, and online courses.
