About this client/child: Thomas, aged 5, lives at home surrounded by his loving family including his 3-year-old brother. Thomas responds with a smile when his parents and staff play games with him. Thomas sustained a Perinatal Hypoxic Brain Injury at birth resulting in profound developmental delay, and complex care and medical needs. Thomas has dystonic cerebral palsy, a PEG in situ, epilepsy, and requires suctioning. He receives a high level of support from multiple medical professionals and teams. More information is available on his medical needs when you apply. ‘Team Thomas’ provides round the clock support and works like a well-oiled machine and ensures that he receives the highest level of care, support, and therapy input. 

Overview of role: The current team leader is due to go on maternity leave in July, and the family are looking for an experienced care team leader to lead the team for a minimum of 6 months, with the opportunity to extend. There is a deputy team leader in place to assist and support with all delegated duties. The role can be offered on a full or part-time basis, depending on your availability. The typical duties and responsibilities that come with leading a large care team, alongside working in collaboration with Thomas’ parents, case manager and therapy team and the opportunity to support Thomas on a 2:1 basis. The team leader duties can be completed onsite or remotely. The position offers a mixture of long shifts, typically 12 hours (days and waking nights) along with some shorter days/afternoons. There are dedicated admin hours set aside each week. Shifts start at 7.00am/pm and from 12 midday. Full details available on application regarding the day-to-day tasks.
