About this client/child: Kai (7) lives at home with his Mum, Dad, younger twin siblings (6) and friendly Labrador. Kai is an active and sporty boy, who loves Parkour, football, and tennis. He is bright and creative and enjoys the arts and cooking. He is musical too and plays the piano and guitar. Kai thrives on one-to-one interactions and responds very well to humour. Kai does not like demands or feeling overwhelmed. Kai has a diagnosis of PDA and NVLD and he can experience anxiety and behaviours that may challenge if he is dysregulated. The family is currently working with a child psychologist. The SEN Nanny will have the opportunity to work alongside the psychologist and receive training in implementing interventions.

Overview of role: Days start at 1.00 pm in this busy household. The family currently employ a Nanny, and the new SEN Nanny will work alongside her, so working collaboratively is a big part of this role. There is time before the children arrive home from school to plan for the evening routine, undertake domestic tasks (the family employ a cleaner) and diary/wardrobe management related to the children. The focus of the SEN Nanny will be supporting Kai, though there will be times when they will support his siblings, or all three of the children, so experience supporting multiple children is essential. Some days the SEN Nanny will pick Kai up from school, and other days she will be collecting his siblings. Being flexible and adaptable is essential. Kai likes to do well at school, and he will need support to complete his homework, as he can sometimes find it overwhelming. Facilitating positive relationships between Kai and his siblings is a key part of this role. During school holidays, the SEN Nanny will be proactive in planning engaging and stimulating activities inside and outside the home for the children to partake in, based around and expanding upon their interests. Excellent organistaional skills and family PA duties will be required.

Who this job would suit: This role will suit a person who stays calm under pressure. A professional career SEN Nanny, with a great sense of humour, who is used to working in busy households with multiple children and supporting a child with behavioural needs. Or someone with a degree in Psychology or Nursing who is looking for a role within a family home.

What’s great about this job: Fantastic opportunity to become part of this loving family and support the ongoing development of all the children. Training opportunities from a child psychologist. Additional paid time off between Christmas and New Year.

Who is recruiting for this role? Snap Care will be carrying out all recruitment including shortlisting, recruiter interviews and arranging employer interviews.

Please note: *Where a specific gender is stated as essential, gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance to paragraph 1, of schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for a female or male worker to work with our client.
