Horse Riding For The Disabled - Dubai
In 1998, Riding for the Disabled's patron, Her Highness Sheikha Hassa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the program by donating 3 of her horses to be used for therapeutic riding, under the directorship of Satish Seemar . October 2013 marked the beginning of RDAD’s 15th season of therapeutic riding lessons.
We have approximately 60 children currently enrolled in the riding programme. Examples of riders’ disabilities include autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, spina bifida, and various learning disabilities.
RDAD's programme utilises the horse to achieve a variety of therapeutic goals, thereby allowing our students to develop their physical, cognitive and emotional abilities. This means we can encourage our riders to achieve more than they ever thought possible, allowing us to focus on ability and not disability.
