The Great South Run: Training Resumes!
A second dose of Covid stopped all my running for a month, so it is almost back to the beginning with the training for the Great South Run in October.
Although I seemed over Covid and felt fine, a persistent cough scuppered any attempts to run. Today though I managed my first run, only a short one, but it was great to get back to it!
I wanted to share with you my reasons for joining Team Claire, with the wonderful Claire Lomas.
In 2019, Snap Care were sponsors at the BABICM Case Manager Awards. We had a table at the event and were delighted to be asked if Claire Lomas the guest speaker could join our table.
Claire delivered the most inspirational speech about her life after an accident that left her with a spinal injury. Chatting to her that afternoon, her drive, positivity and enthusiasm were infectious, and before I knew it, I was signing up for the Great South Run!
Unfortunately, that year, the Great South Run was cancelled because of Covid, but hopefully all set for this year.
Find out more about Claire (who has recently got her pilot’s licence and published her second book!):
Sally Britton started Snap Care in 2001 and continues to manage the business on a day to day basis.
My interest in the area of disability started from a very personal viewpoint; my step-daughter Camilla has cerebral palsy. She was our motivation to start Snap Care and continues to be my personal benchmark for the quality of candidates we work with. As MD of Snap Care, I see the vital role support workers play in our clients’ lives, providing more than just the basic care needs to maximise each child or client’s opportunities.
