About the Client: We have had the pleasure of working with Rayan and his family since he was very young. Now 18 and studying for his A-Levels, Rayan is bright, witty and great company. He has a cochlear implant, is a full-time wheelchair user and requires adult support for all personal care and healthcare needs. His home is fully adapted, including ceiling hoists. The Role at a Glance The core part of this role is to support Rayan overnight. He experiences spasms, can become stiff and needs support to change position during the night. This is a physical role and is always worked 2:1, so you will have a colleague on shift with you. We are recruiting a team of four. One Waking Night Carer will be based in a designated sitting room with a monitor, and one in Rayan’s bedroom. You’ll carry out regular checks and repositioning throughout the night, and Rayan will call out when he needs additional assistance. As any 18-year-old would, Rayan enjoys socialising. Some shifts may begin at 7.30pm if he is heading out with friends – perhaps to the pub, cinema or theatre. The aim is to provide the right level of support while allowing him the space and confidence to enjoy his independence. Daniel also loves meeting new people and getting out of the house to experience new things. He loves day trips into the centre of London using public transport. He also really enjoys live performances (music, theatre, comedy) and is keen to get out and see more. Daniel has a physical disability, with limited functional control over his body. He is a full-time wheelchair user, and he needs transferring via host for all position changes. All his personal care needs must be carried out by others. Daniel is non-verbal however he is highly skilled in using his eye-gaze device. He can take some food orally but is primarily fed a blended diet through his tube. Daniel has a disarming smile, once he feels safe and comfortable with those around him and it will light up your day. He can feel anxious, so to begin with there must be a gentle but confident approach.

The Role at a Glance: Daniel requires 2:1 personalised support, particularly with his weekday morning routines, including preparing breakfast and his school lunch, school drop-offs, and evening activities. Before the afternoon school pick-up, there is time to organise extracurricular activities and complete meal preparation ahead of his 3:30 pm return home.

A comprehensive hygiene plan is in place for both morning and night-time routines. Daniel has his own bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. He usually settles to sleep between 9:30 pm and 10:00 pm; once he is comfortably positioned, his parents come in to say goodnight. A structured routine is followed during the week to help Daniel understand what is happening each day. Weekends are more relaxed and often weather dependent. This provides a great opportunity to introduce Daniel to new activities in and beyond London. About the Client/Child Annabella  is 19 years old and very much at the heart of her family. Everything revolves around her feeling safe, secure and happy. Living in London means there are many wonderful activities, places of interest for Annabella  and her PA to visit over weekends and holidays; she loves being outside, experiencing the city noises, the lovely parks, museums and immersive projects. On quieter days or when the weather doesn’t allow, Annabella  loves being read to and having gentle fun interaction with those around her. Funny stories will make her laugh, and her smile will light up the room. If she feels sad or doesn’t want to do something her facial expression and voice will let you know very quickly. She has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, epilepsy (well controlled with medication), and a visual impairment. Annabella  is a full-time wheelchair user and requires full support with daily living including washing, self-care, feeding, medication, and exercises. Her home is fully adapted to meet her needs, including hoists. Communication is primarily through auditory scanning, which her school use, a switch at home as well Annabella ’s facial expressions and vocalisations.

The Role at a Glance This is a 7 days on, 7 days off role. Term times are early starts for Annabella , the driver picks her up at 08.00am so she needs to be dressed and ready for breakfast by 07.00 am. Annabella  has a shower and her hair is washed in the evening. She arrives back from school just before 4.00 pm. Annabella  thrives on routine and needs to feel secure, so her after-school activities are carefully structured and managed. Annabella  eats orally, and this can take time, so patience and creativity are key. Bedtime routine begins at 7.00pm and then her mum takes over for bedtime stories. Annabella ’s PA is on call with monitor during nighttime shifts, however once she is settled for the night she will sleep through until morning. At weekends and holidays Annabella  likes to get up a little bit later so these times are more relaxed. There is extensive travel involved during holidays, so a valid Passport is essential and next year the family will be relocating overseas.

This Job Would Suit A highly experienced SEN PA/Nanny who is patient, empathetic, kind and enthusiastic about supporting young people with individual needs like Annabella ’s. The team provides 2:1 support day and night. His night care consists of one waking night carer, and one On-Call Night carer. His team continually promotes his independence, provides hand-on support with all areas of his ADL’s, personal care, and self-help skills. His parents, along with his medical, therapy, support and case management team, all work in collaboration to ensure he has the highest standard of support in place, ensuring all his needs are met. Rosie has a degenerative condition, requiring 1:1 support, with additional 2-1 support during the day as required, depending on activities and circumstances, as her condition progresses. Rosie is an intelligent young woman; she knows her own mind and can communicate verbally and engage in conversations in a quiet setting. Her condition presents as a physical disability (she is an electric wheelchair user), and it also affects her hearing, eyesight, and speech. She receives most of her nutrition, fluid via her PEG, along with strong pain medication. Rosie attends college weekly during term time and is additionally studying criminology through Open University. She will require support to access learning materials and complete course work.

The Role at a Glance Rosie’s Complex Care Support Worker will assist and support with her weekend daily tasks, including aspects of personal care, administering feeds, liquids and medication via her PEG, repositioning, manual handling (ceiling track hoists in both her family and holiday home), accessing activities, events, and participating in family life. There will be weekend days when Rosie needs to be kept comfortable at home and her pain levels managed. During these days Rosie likes quiet chats, study or online shopping. During any overnight work shifts Rosie might need help with fixing her blanket/duvet or require support with personal care or repositioning; other nights she will not require any support. On these occasions you will be alerted via an audio monitor and tend to Rosie’s needs as and when required. There will be more detailed information on application.

About the Client/Child: Molly is 9 years old and if you are lucky enough to meet this firecracker you will quite likely have also met her beloved cat, tucked under her arm or being pushed along in a toy trolley! Molly lives with her lovely mum in a very pretty part of the Hertfordshire countryside. She has a fabulous bedroom/bathroom, play area and garden and a fantastic swimming pool which she absolutely loves. Once Molly feels comfortable and safe with her new SEN nanny – she does feel anxious with new people so the introduction is done slowly and gently - there will be no stopping her veracity for imaginative play; her team are at the centre of this. Molly has Global Developmental Delay, tonic clonic Epilepsy, Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder and wears bilateral hearing aids. Molly can eat but has a food aversion so it takes creative input at mealtimes. Her medication and nutrition are given via her PEG.

The Role at a Glance Molly has two other members in ‘Team Molly’ who she adores; on arrival to shift there is a short, handover.  Depending on how tiring her week has been, sometimes her SEN Nanny will get her up, dressed and hearing aids in but usually she is ready to burst into her Saturday activities. It will depend on the weather for trips out, such as visiting local farm parks, soft play (another favourite of Molly’s), local parks or playing on her climbing frame in the back garden. Molly is just as happy staying at home, playing pretend with everyone, including her cat! She also enjoys baking - or perhaps supervising the baking! The weekend days are packed and as you can see, Molly does not stop. After a bath, Molly is ready to settle down and have her nighttime PEG feed set up. She likes to have cuddles with her mum so the SEN Nanny will complete any Molly-related jobs before retiring for the night. There is a lovely room with ensuite toilet very close to Molly’s room. She will only require her PEG feed to be switched off, then flushed; she usually sleeps very soundly. At 8.00 pm on Sunday, handover is carried out, sharing Molly’s weekend antics.

Holly has a lot of medical issues however she is incredibly capable and just full of energy. Being confident, happy to play, be foolish and funny – an awful lot can be taught through this. Alice is 5 years old, she is a bubbly, energetic, and determined little girl who is at the heart of a supportive and loving family; Mum, Dad and 2 older siblings. Alice was born with Cornelia de Lange syndrome (CdLS), a rare genetic condition which means Alice requires support in all aspects of daily living. The SEN Nanny role will be providing 1:1 support to Alice in all areas; working in collaboration with her parents, medical professionals, her multi-disciplinary team (MDT), and school. Her MDT of therapists is growing, and Alice is working hard to reach her goals and targets. The SEN Nanny will work alongside her therapy team, and with training and support, implement her programmes in a fun and creative way. The Role at a Glance Your shift begins at 2.00 pm, preparing play activities and supper before collecting Ollie  from school in his wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV). You will help Emily get washed, dressed, and ready to start her day, and support her throughout her daily routine. You’ll collect Jake (3:00pm) and Edward (3:30pm) from school, a 15-minute drive, so being a confident driver is essential. Once home, you’ll help the boys unwind, with snacks for Jake and creative “den-building” play for Edward, finding ways to include Jake along the way. About the Client/Child Lucas, 7.5 years old, is an affectionate and energetic little boy who lives with his mum dad and older sister Sara, 11. Lucas is physically strong and active; he enjoys trampolining, swimming and visiting local parks. He also enjoys coffee shops, books, characters, audio stories and TV shows. Lucas is autistic and non-verbal, with developmental delay. He attends a specialist SEN school with full time 1:1 support. He receives both speech and language therapy (SALT) and occupational therapy (OT) as part of his education. To support his communication, Lucas uses an AAC device (Proloquo) on his iPad. He needs assistance modelling how to express his wants and needs. Lucas loves his food; he requires support to feed himself. He also requires prompting and support when using the bathroom. Lucas was very recently diagnosed with Epilepsy so is being supported with medication twice daily.

The Role at a glance Lucas’s weekend SEN Nanny/Manny will support him in the activities he enjoys. Weekends are split between London and the family’s Kent home, including swimming lessons, trampoline parks and trips to local playgrounds. The role includes driving him to activities and providing attentive supervision throughout. At times, the SEN Nanny will have sole charge of Lucas, while at other times, the role will involve shared experiences, such as family outings to the park. Weekends are planned in advance, with three consecutive weekends on duty followed by one weekend off. Hours are 9:00am to 7:00pm, No duties are required between 7:00pm and 9:00am. The current SEN Nanny travels to Canterbury on Saturday mornings; the home is conveniently located a short distance from the train station, or parking is available. When working in Kent, the family provides comfortable overnight accommodation on a private floor with your own bedroom and bathroom.

Amy acquired a brain injury at birth and has cerebral palsy whilst also experiencing cognitive and physical fatigue. Without structured rest, she can become overstimulated, leading to meltdowns with distress, shouting, and throwing objects. She is prone to falls but can walk short distances, manage stairs with supervision, and uses a wheelchair for longer journeys. Amy enjoys school, therapies (physio, OT, hydrotherapy), socialising, and spending time with her sisters, but requires structured support to balance activity and rest. She works with a small therapy team and needs consistent support both at school and home to manage fatigue safely and develop positive peer relationships.

The Role at a Glance This hands-on role involves supporting Amy throughout her day, as well as providing practical and emotional support to her mum and siblings. Mornings focus on school/nursery routines for the three girls. Amy will be on a reduced timetable, attending school for academic mornings only, returning home around 12:30–1:00 pm for rest, therapies, and calm afternoon activities. The nanny will support Amy one-to-one during school time (subject to school agreement) and at home in the afternoons, attending therapy appointments and helping manage fatigue. Responsibilities also include supporting her siblings when needed and assisting with household tasks—washing, hoovering, and cooking from fresh ingredients. Overview of role: Mary requires support with all aspects of daily living, care routines, and accessing the community. A big part of this role is enabling Mary to enjoy meaningful activities and outings, responding to her preferences, and supporting her communication in a respectful and empowering way. She attends residential school during the week and enjoys spending her weekends at home.After a busy week at school, Anna enjoys relaxing in bed and can need some gentle encouragement and motivation to get up and make the most of her weekends. We are looking for someone positive and proactive who can motivate Anna to try new activities and enjoy different experiences. Anna has a fantastic sense of humour, is very quick witted and loves making people laugh. Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys fun, playful conversation and brings lots of personality to those around her. Anna is a huge Taylor Swift fan and has even seen her live at the O2. She absolutely loves music and enjoys attending live shows, West End productions, music festivals and a variety of events. She is also a big foodie and regularly goes out for meals with her support workers and family. Anna is a big Disney fan and enjoys relaxing at home watching Disney films – especially Snow White and was supported by her staff last year on a trip to Disneyland Paris. Anna has cerebral palsy and learning disabilities. She uses an electric wheelchair and requires support with personal care, as well as moving and handling. Anna is verbal and prefers to communicate verbally, although it can take a little time to get used to her communication style while you are getting to know each other. She uses an AAC device at school but does not always use this at home. Anna can experience some anxieties, so it is important that new staff take things slowly and approach her gently while building a trusting relationship. The Role at a Glance: This role involves assisting Anna with her daily activities, championing her independence, and engaging her in fun outings such as the festivals and concerts she loves to go to. On Friday evenings, Anna is usually tired and ready for bed between 9.00 and 10.00 pm. About the Client/Child: Harry is a bright and incredibly engaging wee boy (5 years) who is very much at the heart of his family. He lives with his mummy, daddy, and little brother. His gran who apart from being his lovely gran is also his lead support worker. He enjoys books, arcades, loves fast rides, bright lights, and the buzz of hustle and bustle. Harry has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and is completely dependent on his caregivers to meet all his care needs, and he can eat orally (small bites). He has epilepsy, which is managed with medication, though Harry may occasionally experience subtle absences which can look like brief moments of daydreaming. He is cognitively very alert and can become frustrated when not feeling he is being understood or would like to be involved and do things for himself. He uses his wheelchair full time so loves when he can get down on to the floor and cosy up on the sofa. Harry is just starting full-time at Pace Centre School, (Conductive Education) having previously attended the nursery there for a couple of years.

The Role at a Glance: Harry will be dressed and ready for pick-up each morning. As his support worker your role will include driving Harry and his Gran to school on designated mornings and collecting him again at 2:00 pm. You’ll then support his return home, helping him settle in comfortably by 4:00 pm. On Fridays, a longer shift is required to accompany Harry and his Gran to Hippotherapy, which begins at 9:00 am and finishes at 10:30 am, with a return home and settled-in time by 12 noon. Harry’s Gran is his main carer and takes responsibility for his personal care. Initially, this role focuses on supporting her in getting Harry to and from school safely, with a kind and collaborative approach that ensures Harry’s transitions are smooth and safe. There will be the potential for increased involvement over time.

Overview of role: A dynamic role focused on holistic person-centered support, working alongside parents and health and social care professionals dedicated to overcoming challenges and providing Frankie with every opportunity and experience. The team supports Frankie at school, facilitating his access to learning/education and enabling him to participate in all school activities. The SEN Support Worker will also support Frankie at home, and in the community. He has an extensive therapy programme supporting his rehabilitation (SLT, Physio, Dramatherapy, OT, etc.). All these programmes are implemented in a fun, imaginative, creative way by his team; full training is provided by his treating therapist. Josh sustained a Perinatal Hypoxic Brain Injury at birth resulting in profound and complex medical needs. He has Dystonic Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. He is unable to verbalise, using facial expressions, body language and sounds to communicate. ‘Team Josh’ is nurse-led and provides round the clock support working like a well-oiled machine to ensure he receives the highest level of care, support, and therapy input.

Overview of role: Josh is supported on a 2:1 basis, he is making fantastic progress and will be attending school regularly from September. His team follow a detailed care plan, providing support in all areas of his ADL’s, complex care, and rehabilitation which involves daily therapy input. Bespoke training is provided; however, you must have training and experience in PEG, suctioning and seizure management. Package offers on average 2 shifts per week, and opportunity to cover planned and unplanned leave.

About the Client/Child Helen, 14, is a sociable, smiley young lady who enjoys going to the cinema, long country walks, Barbie, Disney, arts and crafts (with her two cheeky, younger brothers!), swimming/hydrotherapy, watching TV, baking – and anything to do with beauty, she loves a pamper! Helen has cerebral palsy, developmental delay and requires adult support for all her care needs. She is a wheelchair user; the house is fully adapted to meet her needs, including hoists. Helen is fed via a PEG, with a fully blended diet. Her epilepsy is well managed with medication, but she can experience seizures of varying strength/length. Helen can experience panic attacks when she needs reassurance and comfort. Helen can let people know her choices, likes and dislikes, through eye-pointing, facial expressions and vocalising/babbling.

The Role at a Glance You will be supporting Helen over the weekend. In addition to attending to her healthcare/daily needs including personal care, you will enable her to enjoy activities, often this will be with some, or all members of her family, including family days out. You will almost play a ‘big sister’ role, having lots of fun together. Occasionally, you may look after Helen’s brothers who are aged 11 and 6, if her parents need to attend to Helen. The role is to cover 4 weekend days a month, 8.00am to 6.00pm. Days are flexible and can be agreed with the family, but for example, it could be one weekend a month, each Saturday or Sunday, or every other weekend. Occasional overnight stays may be required, with plenty of notice given. Additional hours are available during school holidays, by mutual agreement.

You’ll enjoy doing fun activities with Helen, including plenty of pamper sessions! Disability experience is preferred, but with excellent client-focused training, this role will also be ideal for someone with only childcare experience but passionate about the opportunity to support someone with a disability. You will understand the need for confidentiality and privacy around working in a family home. To support Helen’s communication, you will have clear spoken English.

• Salary/Wage: £20.20 Weekdays | £22.20 Weekends | £27,934.00 + Per Annum (for 4 afternoons and alternate weekend day). All figures quoted in gross
• Driving Requirements: Yes, with own car to travel to and from the family / client home as is a remote property
• Essential: Experience supporting clients with epilepsy/seizure management, and of working within a family setting.  Applicants must be comfortable working in a family home with large dogs and other pets, be a non-smoker/vaper. This role is open to *female applicants only.

About the Client/Child Alice, 15, is a fabulous teenager with a real enthusiasm for life, learning, and play. She has a great sense of humour, likes a good laugh and LOVES pantomimes! Alice enjoys a range of activities and hobbies such as horse riding, imaginative and creative play, colouring and playing tag. Alice has an acquired brain injury, epilepsy, a learning disability, hearing loss and a movement disorder affecting all four limbs. Alice uses an electric wheelchair when outside which she loves to zoom around in which is great fun! Alice can communicate verbally in short sentences; it can take a little time to get used to her speech as she gets very excited when talking. Alice can find it difficult to process information and so needs short, clear and concise communication. Alice lives at home with her mum, stepdad, step-sister – and multiple pets, including 4 large dogs. She has an adult sibling who regularly visits, she spends alternate weekend days with her dad.

The Role at a Glance This role involves supporting Alice after school and on an alternative Saturday or Sunday. Alice is great fun and generally very happy, though at times she may present behaviours that challenge, including screaming or self-injurious behaviours, requiring a calm, confident and consistent approach. The focus of this role is on engaging Alice in meaningful, enjoyable and stimulating activities at home and in the community. You will also support her personal care, mobility and clinical needs, including following epilepsy management protocols; full training is provided. Alice’s mum is always nearby to offer guidance and support, so you will not be working alone. The role includes record keeping, and incorporating elements of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and at a later date, music therapy into daily routines. Alice lives in a busy family home with dogs, cats and Sugar Gliders, so applicants must be comfortable working around pets.
