He loves swimming, water play, messy play, music, climbing, trampolining and time outdoors. He also enjoys calm indoor spaces when he needs to decompress. Theo is autistic, non-verbal and has ADHD, global delay and sensory processing difficulties. He communicates his needs by taking adults to what he wants, using simple signals and with communication boards at school. He understands well when instructions are kept simple and calmly delivered, and he responds best to a patient, reassuring approach.

The role includes support with after-school routines, meals, personal care, and a range of indoor and outdoor activities such as swimming, outdoor play, sensory activities and community outings. Close supervision is required at all times, particularly in kitchens, bathrooms and community settings, as Theo can become unsettled if unwell, uncomfortable or overwhelmed. Weekend hours are planned in advance to support predictability and work–life balance. Theo sleeps through the night, so overnight disturbance is unlikely. Both parents are doctors and may have occasional on-call commitments; any flexibility required is always agreed in advance. During school holidays, weekday hours may vary slightly but are planned and confirmed ahead of time.
