About the Client/Child Lucas, 7.5 years old, is an affectionate and energetic little boy who lives with his mum dad and older sister Sara, 11. Lucas is physically strong and active; he enjoys trampolining, swimming and visiting local parks. He also enjoys coffee shops, books, characters, audio stories and TV shows. Lucas is autistic and non-verbal, with developmental delay. He attends a specialist SEN school with full time 1:1 support. He receives both speech and language therapy (SALT) and occupational therapy (OT) as part of his education. To support his communication, Lucas uses an AAC device (Proloquo) on his iPad. He needs assistance modelling how to express his wants and needs. Lucas loves his food; he requires support to feed himself. He also requires prompting and support when using the bathroom. Lucas was very recently diagnosed with Epilepsy so is being supported with medication twice daily.

The Role at a glance Lucas’s weekend SEN Nanny/Manny will support him in the activities he enjoys. Weekends are split between London and the family’s Kent home, including swimming lessons, trampoline parks and trips to local playgrounds. The role includes driving him to activities and providing attentive supervision throughout. At times, the SEN Nanny will have sole charge of Lucas, while at other times, the role will involve shared experiences, such as family outings to the park. Weekends are planned in advance, with three consecutive weekends on duty followed by one weekend off. Hours are 9:00am to 7:00pm, No duties are required between 7:00pm and 9:00am. The Role: You will support Steve as part of a dedicated team, using calm prompts and visual cues to assist with daily routines, mobility, personal care and rehabilitation goals. The role requires excellent communication, consistency and the ability to follow detailed MDT guidance. Steve benefits from support workers who are patient, observant and engaging, while understanding the importance of pacing interaction to avoid overstimulation and fatigue. The Role at a Glance Emily has a full team of Support Workers providing 24/7 care, with just one position remaining to complete the team. As her Support Worker, you will assist with everyday tasks and personal care, including washing her clothes, towels, and bed linens, as well as managing all complex health needs and monitoring. You will help Emily get washed, dressed, and ready to start her day, and support her throughout her daily routine. Emily thrives with consistency, so it’s important that all complex care equipment is maintained and her personal hygiene and daily needs are met. About the Client/Child Oscar, aged 22, is a bright, engaging and determined young man with a wide range of interests. Prior to recent changes in his health, he enjoyed cycling, languages (with a particular passion for French), playing the piano, reading, and socialising with friends. Oscar has cerebral palsy and relies on full support for his daily needs. He is a wheelchair user and non-verbal. Following recent spinal surgery at C3 level, Oscar currently has very limited movement from the neck down. As a result, his care needs have increased significantly, and his communication is transitioning to the use of head switches. It is still early days in his recovery, and while the long-term outcome remains uncertain, Oscar and his family remain hopeful that he will regain some abilities over time. He is cognitively very aware and continues to engage with those around him. With the right support, there may be opportunities for him to return to some of the activities he enjoys, such as horse riding (with specialist support) and swimming, as his recovery progresses. Oscar has a PEG in place for nutritional support when required and is supported by a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team. This is a period of significant change and adjustment for both Oscar and his family.

The Role at a Glance As Oscar’s Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting him through this important stage of recovery and adjustment. Your role will involve providing full personal care, supporting his evolving communication needs, and ensuring he remains comfortable, engaged, and supported throughout his day. Oscar will currently be more passively involved, so your role will focus on facilitating meaningful interaction, promoting wellbeing, and supporting any activities in a way that is appropriate to his current abilities. Amy enjoys school, therapies (physio, OT, hydrotherapy), socialising, and spending time with her sisters, but requires structured support to balance activity and rest. She works with a small therapy team and needs consistent support both at school and home to manage fatigue safely and develop positive peer relationships.

The Role at a Glance This hands-on role involves supporting Amy throughout her day, as well as providing practical and emotional support to her mum and siblings. Mornings focus on school/nursery routines for the three girls. Amy will be on a reduced timetable, attending school for academic mornings only, returning home around 12:30–1:00 pm for rest, therapies, and calm afternoon activities. The nanny will support Amy one-to-one during school time (subject to school agreement) and at home in the afternoons, attending therapy appointments and helping manage fatigue. The Role at a Glance This is a varied and rewarding role supporting Theo after school and at weekends, helping him transition from school to home, enjoy his activities, stay safe and feel regulated with clear, calm and consistent routines. The successful candidate will be supporting daily after-school routines, meal times, toileting and personal care, and helping Theo enjoy his favourite activities, both indoors and outdoors, depending on his mood and the weather. Close supervision is essential, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms and when out and about, as Theo can become unsettled quickly if he is uncomfortable, unwell or overwhelmed.  Weekend hours are flexible and may be spread across one or two weekends each month, with the possibility of occasional overnight stays as the role develops. Theo sleeps through the night so the SEN Nanny / Manny is unlikely to be disturbed once he is asleep.

The Role at a Glance This is a 7 days on / 7 days off role, offering a consistent rota and the opportunity to become a key part of Victoria’s support team. During term time, Victoria is picked up at 8:00am, so she will need support to be dressed and ready for breakfast by 7:00am. She returns from school just before 4:00pm and thrives on a structured, predictable routine. Her after-school time is carefully planned and requires calm, organised support to help her engage in activities that are tailored to her needs. Irene has complex medical conditions including Ehlers Danlos syndrome, Mast Cell Activation Disorder, Gastroparesis. Non-epileptic seizures. PTSD and spinal instability. Her progressive condition affects her neurologically and it is likely she has an Acquired Brain Injury. She has fluctuating emotions that could involve uncontrolled temper, frustration, anxiety, and she can be impatient. She has chronic and debilitating pain. She lives at her parents’ house. Irene is mostly confined to her bed due to pain and/or exhaustion. Irene can currently transfer with just light support (no lifting). She requires support with her personal care including a daily bed bath; she uses a commode.

Overview of role: You will provide 1:1 support for Irene during the day and night. During the night, Irene will require help if she has a seizure, or has another need such as requiring pain relief or having a drink replenished etc. The carer's bedroom is next to Irene's, with a buzzer to alert you. The night role is classed as an on-call night but varies each night; some nights you may be able to sleep all night, other nights, Irene will need support and/or have an extended seizure, these can last for several hours. Irene may need oxygen around 8.00am to 9.00am. She then typically sleeps until around 2:30 PM, so you can catch up on your sleep if needed. At times, Irene will enjoy having a chat or playing some games with the support worker/carer.  A friend may visit or she may have an activity such as aromatherapy. In addition to Irene’s care, there are light household duties to attend to, such as her washing and ironing.

About the Client: Amir, 42, is an active, sociable, and engaging young man who lives in his own bungalow with PA support. He leads a busy and fulfilling lifestyle and enjoys a wide range of activities including drama and singing groups, going to the gym, swimming, companion cycling, go-karting, attending concerts and theatre shows, and following his favourite team, Southampton Football Club. Amir has a warm and friendly personality and enjoys chatting and spending time with others. He communicates verbally, although he may occasionally need listeners to ask him to repeat himself for clarity. Amir has a moderate learning disability and spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, which can result in uncoordinated and sometimes jerky movements. He is able to walk using a walking aid, although his balance is reduced and he can become fatigued over longer distances. For longer journeys, such as trips into London for events, he uses a power chair or manual wheelchair depending on the venue. Amir also has dysphasia and dysarthria. He eats a normal diet with minimal adaptations. Amir can sometimes feel overwhelmed or anxious in certain situations and may need support to process new information or with problem-solving. He is, however, very independent and requires minimal support with personal care.

The Role at a Glance: This role involves supporting Amir with day-to-day tasks including cooking, cleaning, following his home exercise programme, and accompanying him to events and activities. Amir enjoys keeping busy and has a full weekly schedule, so the role is varied, active, and highly engaging. Amir is capable and independent in many areas, so the focus of this role is on enabling his independence and providing support only where needed. The Role at a Glance Penny’s Support Worker/PA will provide 1:1 holistic support outside of school, including morning and afterschool routines, personal care, activities, social outings, and life admin. The role focuses on promoting independence and supporting Penny’s development in line with therapy goals, working as part of a multidisciplinary team. During school holidays, there is opportunity to plan activities, days out, and occasional travel abroad (expenses covered). The Role at a Glance You will work closely with parents and professionals to provide emotionally safe, co-regulatory and highly individualised support for both brothers. This is a relationship-based, child-led role where trust, connection and emotional safety are prioritised, with behaviours understood as communication of nervous system stress rather than something to correct or manage. The role will initially focus on building safe, trusting relationships through calm companionship, sensory regulation, low-demand interaction and home-based support tailored to the boys’ daily capacity, interests and emotional readiness. A key part of the role will involve planning and facilitating engaging, interest-led activities within the home environment, creating opportunities for connection, creativity and enjoyment at the boys’ pace and comfort level. The Role at a Glance This role is undertaken on a 2:1 basis alongside another SEN Support Worker, or as 1:1 support, with a parent present in the home. Weekday shifts usually start at 2.00 pm (10.00 am in school holidays/weekends), supporting preparation for David’s return home and daily routine, while weekends are more relaxed and paced around rest and activities. David has a fully adapted bedroom, bathroom, and playroom, where he chooses his daily “agenda” of games and activities. The Role at a Glance
Working alongside another team member, your role will focus on supporting Elsie with all aspects of her ADLs, care plan, therapy programmes, medical needs etc. A typical morning will start with completing a handover with the night care team, finishing off her feed, and getting up, dressed, and out the door on time for school. Elsie’s SEN Support Workers drive her to school (30-minute drive), return home to the house, complete reports, a quick tidy around, and then your time is your own (study, gym, hobbies, life admin etc.) You will arrive back to collect the car at 2.00pm, complete the school pick up, and typically home for therapy, or off to an appointment or planned activity. Mum and Dad will be home from work to take over latest 5.30pm, where they enjoy family time, until the night care team arrives at 7.30pm.

Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys fun, playful conversation and brings lots of personality to those around her. Anna is a huge Taylor Swift fan and has even seen her live at the O2. She absolutely loves music and enjoys attending live shows, West End productions, music festivals and a variety of events. She is also a big foodie and regularly goes out for meals with her support workers and family. Anna is a big Disney fan and enjoys relaxing at home watching Disney films – especially Snow White and was supported by her staff last year on a trip to Disneyland Paris. The Role at a Glance The shift starts with a full handover from your colleague regarding Frankie’s day. Typically, when you arrive Frankie will be settled in bed. This is an active waking night shift with an established routine in place which includes administering medication and PEG management, completing nightly logs and paperwork. Frankie’s sleep is unpredictable, there will be nights when he needs to you by bedside, on other nights, he may only wake for a short period of time. If settled there is a portable video-audio monitor so that you can get on with completing other duties Frankie’s laundry, washing syringes or replenishing stock etc. The sleeping night carer is present on each shift to provide additional support if needed. Their role is primarily to assist in emergencies or during very occasional situations where extra help is required, such as personal care, administering medication or repositioning. Additional night shifts are also available at weekends for those who wish to take them on; however, these are optional. If Frankie requires sustained or prolonged support during the night, the sleeping night carer’s role will be converted to a waking/on-call night rate for the duration of that support.

About the Client/Child Harry, 38 years old, lives at home with his lovely family and is supported by his small, dedicated team of Support Workers. Harry has lived in Holloway all his life; everyone in his local community knows and loves him. Harry loves dance; he attends a music studio where he practices ‘free dancing’, he joins his weekly Boccia group once a week, he also enjoys swimming, going to the gym, and he especially loves going to Church. Probably top of the list is his allotment, a stone’s throw from his house. This is a wonderful space where Harry is planning a new sensory garden. A driver is required for trips further afield, however Harry’s preferred mode of transport is his 3-wheeler trike; he goes everywhere on it, so his Support Worker needs to be physically fit to keep up. Harry has cerebral palsy, learning disabilities and experiences high levels of anxiety. Due to his anxiety, meeting new people or initiating new activities can feel very overwhelming for him. He will require assistance with activities of daily life, including support with personal care, meal preparation, shopping, budgeting and accessing the community.

The Role at a Glance On arrival, there will be a short handover before going through Harry’s daily schedule; although no two days are alike, Harry knows in advance which activity he will be doing. You will gently support Harry to participate in his chosen activities, helping him to express his wishes in an appropriate way. Harry walks unaided but can lose his balance so his support worker must always be vigilant and physically able. Before reaching this point with Harry, new team members are introduced slowly. Initially, Harry may want to meet first, perhaps at his allotment or the dance studio, until he feels a sense of trust and security. Harry is a very gentle person; it is so important that he feels he has his own autonomy. About the Client/Child: Harry is a bright and incredibly engaging wee boy (5 years) who is very much at the heart of his family. He lives with his mummy, daddy, and little brother. His gran who apart from being his lovely gran is also his lead support worker. He enjoys books, arcades, loves fast rides, bright lights, and the buzz of hustle and bustle. Harry has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and is completely dependent on his caregivers to meet all his care needs, and he can eat orally (small bites). He has epilepsy, which is managed with medication, though Harry may occasionally experience subtle absences which can look like brief moments of daydreaming. He is cognitively very alert and can become frustrated when not feeling he is being understood or would like to be involved and do things for himself. He uses his wheelchair full time so loves when he can get down on to the floor and cosy up on the sofa. Harry is just starting full-time at Pace Centre School, (Conductive Education) having previously attended the nursery there for a couple of years.

The Role at a Glance: Harry will be dressed and ready for pick-up each morning. As his support worker your role will include driving Harry and his Gran to school on designated mornings and collecting him again at 2:00 pm. You’ll then support his return home, helping him settle in comfortably by 4:00 pm. On Fridays, a longer shift is required to accompany Harry and his Gran to Hippotherapy, which begins at 9:00 am and finishes at 10:30 am, with a return home and settled-in time by 12 noon. Harry’s Gran is his main carer and takes responsibility for his personal care. Initially, this role focuses on supporting her in getting Harry to and from school safely, with a kind and collaborative approach that ensures Harry’s transitions are smooth and safe. There will be the potential for increased involvement over time.

The Role at a Glance The core part of this role is to support Rayan overnight. He experiences spasms, can become stiff and needs support to change position during the night. This is a physical role and is always worked 2:1, so you will have a colleague on shift with you. We are recruiting a team of four. One Waking Night Carer will be based in a designated sitting room with a monitor, and one in Rayan’s bedroom. You’ll carry out regular checks and repositioning throughout the night, and Rayan will call out when he needs additional assistance. As any 18-year-old would, Rayan enjoys socialising. The Role at a Glance
This role involves supporting Tom during both day and night shifts, ensuring his comfort, safety, and engagement in daily activities. Night shifts start at 9.00pm with a handover, followed by assisting Tom with his bedtime routine and settling him into his sleep system. You will stay with Tom until he falls asleep and respond to any needs during the night via a monitor, with the option to rest in the carer’s bedroom when he is sleeping well. In the morning, you will help Tom wash, dress, and get ready for the day, including a wake-up routine on school days. During the day, Tom is transitioning to 2:1 support. School holiday shifts begin at 9.00am (10:30am at weekends) and involve planning fun, educational, and sensory activities he enjoys, such as music, movement, switches, movies, stories, and walks in his all-terrain power chair. The Role at a Glance This role involves supporting Alice after school and on an alternative Saturday or Sunday. Alice is great fun and generally very happy, though at times she may present behaviours that challenge, including screaming or self-injurious behaviours, requiring a calm, confident and consistent approach. The Role at a Glance: We are looking to recruit 2 support workers/PAs who will each work one weekday (Thursday or Friday) and then work together on Sundays to provide 2:1 support for community outings with Daisy. Weekdays, you will collect Daisy from school (a 10-minute walk) and support her at home with snacks, dinner, and relaxed play, with evenings focused on simple, engaging activities such as books, toys, and sensory play. Weekend shifts provide opportunities for 2:1 outings such as the zoo, trips into London, garden centres, cinema or bowling, as well as quieter time at home depending on Daisy’s energy levels. The team provides 2:1 support day and night. His night care consists of one waking night carer, and one On-Call Night carer. His team continually promotes his independence, provides hand-on support with all areas of his ADL’s, personal care, and self-help skills. His parents, along with his medical, therapy, support and case management team, all work in collaboration to ensure he has the highest standard of support in place, ensuring all his needs are met. He requires support to manage self-regulation, and anxiety; all training in this area is provided. About the Client/Child Danny is 16 years old; he is a lovely, happy boy who lives with his incredibly loving mum and dad.  He enjoys spending a lot of time on the trampoline or listening to music. Danny has Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy and requires personal care.  He uses a manual wheelchair whilst out and at home is able self-mobilise with support. He is non-verbal, communicating gestures and noises and can eat and drink with gentle support and encouragement.

The Role at a Glance This is a part-time SEN Support Worker role providing consistent after-school and weekend support for Danny and his family. The core hours are currently Monday and Thursday from 3.00 pm to 7. 00 pm, plus 6 hours on a Saturday, with the potential for hours to increase overtime. Danny’s *female support worker will be in the family home to meet Danny after his school transport drops him off, and will support his after-school routine, personal care, preparing teatime food and leisure activities at home and around his local neighbourhood. The family is moving within the following couple of months, to the Purley area.  It is exciting for Danny that his new garden will have an in-ground trampoline which he will be able to access safely himself. On a Saturday, Danny will usually be up and ready for his day ahead. When the weather is kind Danny loves to go his local trampoline park where he will stay for as long as he can – his new support worker will need to be active and fit! There are lots of different, interesting walks which Danny likes to do; the local park or wandering up high street. In August, Danny and his family will be traveling to a UK destination, and it would be very beneficial if the new support worker accompanied them.

About the Client/Child: Tom, 19, loves listening to music and creating playlists on Spotify and YouTube. When the weather is less inviting, he enjoys relaxing with films (horror being a favourite!) alongside the family cats and dogs, (an animal lover is a must). Tom enjoys meeting new people, getting out of the house and experiencing new things. He particularly enjoys day trips into central London using public transport, as well as attending live music, theatre and comedy performances. Tom has a physical disability with limited functional control over his body. He is a full-time wheelchair user and requires support with all transfers and personal care. Tom is non-verbal; however, he is highly skilled in using his Eye-Gaze to communicate. He can take some food orally but is primarily fed a blended diet through his tube. Tom has a great sense of humour once he feels comfortable with those around him. He can feel anxious initially, so a calm, confident and reassuring approach is important.

The Role at a Glance: Tom requires personalised 1:1 support to assist him with all aspects of his daily routine, personal care, social activities and independence. Support includes morning and evening routines, meal preparation, support at home and accompanying Tom on activities and outings in the community. There is also time during quieter periods to help organise activities and prepare for upcoming appointments or outings. A structured weekly routine helps Tom understand what is happening each day, whilst weekends are generally more relaxed and activity-focused. This is a fantastic opportunity to introduce Tom to new experiences both locally and further afield. Additional hours are available during school holidays, including opportunities to travel with the family to destinations such as Cornwall and Canada.

About the Client/Child Sam (19) is a bright, articulate and creative young man with a passion for wildlife photography, nature, Lego and animals. He has been living independently for the past two years and values his own space and autonomy, with some structured support in place to help him maintain this. Sam has a great sense of humour and enjoys engaging conversations, but he also experiences intense emotions and periods of low mood. He has diagnoses of PDA, ASC and ADHD, and his main challenges centre around anxiety, depression and managing demands. Sam is hypersensitive and can find situations difficult when he feels a lack of control, which may lead to periods of dysregulation. He enjoys keeping busy but equally needs quiet downtime to recharge. When planning activities, it’s important that Sam feels involved in decision-making and has a clear exit plan if he begins to feel overwhelmed.

The Role at a Glance Sam has recently been accepted onto a Photography course at the University of Westminster (Harrow campus), starting in September 2026 — an exciting step toward greater independence. Sam is currently based in St Albans but will be moving to Wembley Park soon to be closer to the university. As Sam’s Support Worker, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support in his home. You’ll support Sam with attending university and supporting him to complete coursework, including accompanying him when needed and being nearby if he feels overwhelmed or needs to finish early. Often, your presence alone will provide reassurance and help reduce anxiety. This role focuses on supporting Sam’s autonomy through collaborative, low-demand approaches, with clear and thoughtful communication essential due to his sensitivity to tone and phrasing. Sam is also a proud pet owner and adores his dog and two cats; supporting him with daily dog walks may form part of your responsibilities while ensuring he remains in control of their care.

This Job Would Suit We’re looking for a confident, resilient Support Worker who can build a strong, trusting relationship with Sam and bring calm consistency to his life. You’ll recognise when to give space and when to offer gentle encouragement, supporting his confidence and independence. A balanced personality is key — someone who enjoys outdoor adventures but is equally comfortable with quieter days at home. You must be a confident driver, happy to accompany Sam on photography trips, with an interest in nature or photography a bonus.
