About the Client/Child Oscar, aged 22, is a bright, engaging and determined young man with a wide range of interests. Prior to recent changes in his health, he enjoyed cycling, languages (with a particular passion for French), playing the piano, reading, and socialising with friends. Oscar has cerebral palsy and relies on full support for his daily needs. He is a wheelchair user and non-verbal. Following recent spinal surgery at C3 level, Oscar currently has very limited movement from the neck down. As a result, his care needs have increased significantly, and his communication is transitioning to the use of head switches. He is currently at Mardon rehabilitation centre in Exeter, where the initial training will be.  It is still early days in his recovery, and while the long-term outcome remains uncertain, Oscar and his family remain hopeful that he will regain some abilities over time. He is cognitively very aware and continues to engage with those around him. With the right support, there may be opportunities for him to return to some of the activities he enjoys, such as horse riding (with specialist support) and swimming, as his recovery progresses. Oscar has a PEG in place for nutritional support when required and is supported by a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team. This is a period of significant change and adjustment for both Oscar and his family.

The Role at a Glance As Oscar’s Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting him through this important stage of recovery and adjustment. Your role will involve providing full personal care, supporting his evolving communication needs, and ensuring he remains comfortable, engaged, and supported throughout his day. Oscar will currently be more passively involved, so your role will focus on facilitating meaningful interaction, promoting wellbeing, and supporting any activities in a way that is appropriate to his current abilities. You will work 1:1 with Oscar within the family home (where family members may be present), and at times alongside another Support Worker for outings, holidays, and when additional support is required. There is the option to work an additional Saturday each month, and further hours. Full training in all areas of Oscar’s care, including his updated clinical and communication needs, will be provided, along with ongoing support from the Team Leader and Oscar’s parents. The hourly rate offered is £17.00 on weekdays and £19.00 gross per hour on weekends. Following a successful six-month period in the role, the rate will increase to £18.00 on weekdays and £20.00 on weekends.

Snap Care has had the pleasure of recruiting for Elsie’s team for 5 years, with many of her team long-standing members! Elsie at times can become overwhelmed, which can cause some behaviours; there is a neuropsychologist currently putting strategies and plans to support Elsie and will train all members of her team.

The Role at a Glance
Working alongside another team member, your role will focus on supporting Elsie with all aspects of her ADLs, care plan, therapy programmes, medical needs etc. A typical morning will start with completing a handover with the night care team, finishing off her feed, and getting up, dressed, and out the door on time for school. Elsie’s SEN Support Workers drive her to school (30-minute drive), return home to the house, complete reports, a quick tidy around, and then your time is your own (study, gym, hobbies, life admin etc.) You will arrive back to collect the car at 2.00pm, complete the school pick up, and typically home for therapy, or off to an appointment or planned activity. Mum and Dad will be home from work to take over latest 5.30pm, where they enjoy family time, until the night care team arrives at 7.30pm.

The Role at a Glance Emily has a full team of Support Workers providing 24/7 care, with just one position remaining to complete the team. As her Support Worker, you will assist with everyday tasks and personal care, including washing her clothes, towels, and bed linens, as well as managing all complex health needs and monitoring. You will help Emily get washed, dressed, and ready to start her day, and support her throughout her daily routine. Emily thrives with consistency, so it’s important that all complex care equipment is maintained and her personal hygiene and daily needs are met. She requires regular pressure relief, which must be factored into social activities, and Support Workers attend all events with her, providing monitoring and assistance day and night. The Role at a glance Lucas’s weekend SEN Nanny/Manny will support him in the activities he enjoys. Weekends are split between London and the family’s Kent home, including swimming lessons, trampoline parks and trips to local playgrounds. The Role at a Glance Penny’s Support Worker/PA will provide 1:1 holistic support outside of school, including morning and afterschool routines, personal care, activities, social outings, and life admin. Elsie has a team of professional support staff providing 2:1 care day and night as she has Cerebral Palsy, is a full-time wheelchair user, has epilepsy and a PEG tube in situ for all fluid, nutrition and medication intake. Elsie uses an E Tran Frame to support her communication, along with sounds, facial expressions, and body language. Snap Care has had the pleasure of recruiting for Elsie’s team for 5 years, with many of her team long-standing members! Elsie at times can become overwhelmed, which can cause some behaviours; there is a neuropsychologist currently putting strategies and plans to support Elsie and will train all members of her team.

The Role at a Glance
Working alongside another team member, your role will focus on supporting Elsie with all aspects of her ADLs, care plan, therapy programmes, medical needs etc. A typical morning will start with completing a handover with the night care team, finishing off her feed, and getting up, dressed, and out the door on time for school. Elsie’s SEN Support Workers drive her to school (30-minute drive), return home to the house, complete reports, a quick tidy around, and then your time is your own (study, gym, hobbies, life admin etc.) You will arrive back to collect the car at 2.00pm, complete the school pick up, and typically home for therapy, or off to an appointment or planned activity. Mum and Dad will be home from work to take over latest 5.30pm, where they enjoy family time, until the night care team arrives at 7.30pm.

• Salary/Wage: Day shifts: £18.00 weekdays / £20.00 weekends. Waking nights: £20.00 weekdays / £21.00 weekends
• Driving Requirements: Strongly preferred
• Essential: Professional childcare experience. Confident to supporting a young girl with physical disabilities and using equipment such as hoists (training provided).
• Desirable: Supporting children with additional or complex needs; suctioning, chest physio, PEG feeding, epilepsy, dystonia, postural management, medication administration, and AAC/Eye Gaze communication
• Start Date: August 2026, with interviews and shadow shifts in June and July
• Days & Hours: We are seeking at least 2 Support Workers to cover a mixture of shifts: Wednesday and Thursday: 2.00 pm to 8.00 pm. Monday, Tuesday,  Friday, Saturday and Sunday  4.00 pm to 8.00 pm. About the Child: Lily, 5, is a determined and affectionate little girl with a great sense of humour. She loves cuddles, bubbles, swimming, bathtime, switch toys and interaction with the people around her. Lily communicates through Eye Gaze, vocalisations, facial expressions and body language. She has cerebral palsy with dystonia, epilepsy, PEG feeding requirements, respiratory vulnerabilities, and visual and hearing impairments.

The Role at a Glance: This hands-on role focuses on supporting Lily’s therapies, rehabilitation and daily care while ensuring she enjoys fun, engaging activities. Duties include personal care, PEG feeds, medication administration, stretches, communication support and respiratory care. Waking nights involve observation, repositioning and respiratory support to keep Lily safe and comfortable. You’ll work closely with her parents, support team and therapists. We are seeking at least 2 Support Workers to cover a mixture of shifts: Wednesday and Thursday: 2.00 pm to 8.00 pm. Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm. Saturday waking night 8.00 pm to 8.00 am. Additional ad hoc shifts available. Please advise your availability when applying. The role will start in August as the family will be travelling for Lily’s therapy, but interviews and shadow shifts will be conducted in June and July.
