NAS Conferences 


Autism and Technology Conference
2 February 2016, London, UK


This new conference, organised by The National Autistic Society, will look at how technology can help autistic people as well as the professionals who support them. Key speakers will present the latest research and developments in technology. Topics include: assistive technology, biometric readers and how they can help alleviate anxiety, staying safe on the internet, and the power of online communities and social media.

The National Autistic Society’s Professional Conference
1 and 2 March 2016, Telford International Centre, Telford, UK

This conference is a must for all professionals working with autism. Last year it was attended by nearly 700 delegates. The event provides a unique opportunity for professionals from education, health and social health sectors to network, discuss best practice and share learning. Expert speakers will present an overview of the changing environment and the latest developments in the field of autism. There will also be a series of seminars to choose from. Book your place now.

Get Involved with YMCA East Surrey

 

Join YMCA East Surrey in our Yippee and Yip4Youth teams in delivering inclusive out of school playschemes for children and young people aged 5 – 18 years.

We run after school and evening clubs in addition to full day scheme provision during holiday periods. As part of our team, you will assist with crafts, sports, cooking, music and games in addition to supporting young people with disability and additional needs.
Previous knowledge and experience working with children, youth and/or disability is desirable although training is available to all volunteers working across our services.

Bailey Matthews


Congratulations Bailey!


Bailey Matthews was awarded the Helen Rollason prize at the Sports Personality of the Year awards on Sunday 20th December. Bailey completed a triathlon unaided which included a 100m swim, a 4km bike ride and 1.3km run – and was handed the award for “outstanding achievement in the face of adversity”. Bailey is eight years old and has cerebral palsy. 



We were first aware of Bailey when we re-tweeted this fabulous Youtube clip:

Finding Your Way Conference
