Louise aged 17 is a sociable young lady who is looking for an outgoing and reliable PA to help her organise and access teenage activities such as meeting up with friends, going on days out and holidays. Louise has cerebral palsy and uses a high tech voice output communication aid. She uses a wheelchair when out and about and her car is adapted to take her power chair. Louise will need support with her personal care and homework.
Louise is looking for someone with good IT skills in order to programme her communication software (training will be provided) and confidence to facilitate her chat with others. A get up go and attitude is more important than experience of disability – for example dancing at discos and concerts, or joining in at a trampoline park.
Hours are negotiable but Louise does need flexibility to work Saturdays or Sundays (usually alternating with her PA, for example two Saturdays and two Sundays a month plus occasional evenings). You will also need to be available for several days during school holidays. Occasional overnight stays are also required. Continuity is really important for Louise so she does require a PA who can commit to at least a year. If you meet what Louise is looking for please email your CV to Rachael at Snap.
*Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for a female worker to work with our client.
Please note, whilst Snap endeavour to reply to all applications, some of our positions are so popular this is not possible and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
