£17.00 Gross per Hour. Saturday Support Worker, ideal for an LSA or TA looking for additional hours. Permanent contract available on care package providing support to a young boy with complex care needs in Cheltenham area, GL53.

Wage / Salary:  £17.00 gross per hour weekends | £15.00 gross per hour weekdays 
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? Will need own car to travel to and from work
Essential: Previous experience providing personal centered support to a young person with complex needs. Experience working with a family setting and the community
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Saturday 1.00pm to 4.00pm. 20 hours available during school holidays, negotiable depending on activities.

Josh is 8 years old and a vibrant, happy and active character. He has cerebral palsy and limited mobility, requiring support to meet all his care needs. Josh lives at home with his family and is cared for by a small home care team throughout the day and night. Josh is capable of making his needs known and is independent minded. The family are looking for additional weekend and holiday support/help. 

In this position you will support Josh with all aspects of his care and support plan including therapeutic care, personal care, accessing leisure and social activities, assisting with nutrition and medication intake, and, exploring new interests and activities. This role will be based in Josh’s family home and out in the community. Josh requires a support worker who will develop his independence and confidence, enabling him to live a full and active life whilst ensuring he reaches his full potential.

For this role, you’ll be patient and calm with experience following care plans and excellent communication skills to liaise with Josh’s parents, case manager and other professionals involved in his care package. Confident driver with their own car and a non-smoker is essential for this role.
