About this client/child:
Millie is an engaging, curious, and inquisitive 2.5-year-old. She loves spending time with her siblings, playing and listening to music, storytime, and cuddles. Millie has Cerebral Palsy with total body involvement and as a result has profound physical, cognitive, and communication impairments. Millie requires support to meet all her daily, therapeutic, and personal care needs. The family is Jewish and keeps a Kosher household.
Overview of role:
The role of SEN Nanny is varied; you will wear many different hats and pitch in as and when required, ensuring family life runs as smoothly as possible. The SEN Nanny will work hands-on with Millie, attending therapy appointments and implementing all her therapy programmes, under the guidance of her treating therapists, assist with all self-care tasks and manual handling. The SEN Nanny will facilitate and enable Millie to access the world around her, work towards her goals and targets, continually promote her independence and provide the highest standard of care and support. The SEN Nanny will be happy to support and care for Millie’s siblings when appropriate and complete light nursery duties, meal prep, etc.
Who this job would suit:
A positive, confident, proactive, and energetic SEN Nanny, with previous experience supporting a child with Cerebral Palsy and working alongside other professionals implementing therapy programmes. For this role, it is preferable that you have your own car, and it is essential that you are a confident driver (automatic), non-smoker/vaper, and confident supporting a child during Hydrotherapy/swimming.
