Title: Waking Night Nurse | Hildenborough, TN11
Location: Hildenborough, TN11
Nearest Train Station: Hildenborough
Wage / Salary: Weekdays £20.00 gross per hour | Weekends £22.00 gross per hour
Driver required? Essential (will need own car to get to work)
Essential Experience: Paediatric nurse, PEG feeding, supporting a child through waking nights
Start Date: April 2018
Days & Hours: 36+ hours per week. 3 night shifts 7:00pm to 7:00am based on a rolling rota. Some day shifts also available
Pets: 2 dogs, Guinea pigs

Lilly, 13, lives with her parents, her siblings, Oliver, 10, (football lover who plays midfield), Emily, 5, (enchanting), a rather cute Guinea pig and two very loving dogs (labrador and labradoodle).
Lilly has cerebral palsy, affecting all hour limbs, complex medical needs, is nonverbal and visually impaired. She has epilepsy (this has been well controlled now for about two years) is PEG fed, oxygen dependent overnight and requires medication every two to three hours day and night. Suctioning is required but only for teeth brushing and if congested. PRN medication is in place. As she requires one to one 24 hour care, a full care team is in place.

The role involves three waking nights, with the shift beginning at 7:00pm. Lilly’s day starts at about 2:00am! She has a fantastic pink, fully adapted bedroom. There is an adjoining room. Where the medication and feeds are made up. Once up and dressed Lilly lovely music and movement. She has an amazing space where all her activities are carried out. Lilly particularly enjoys listening and dancing to music in her standing sling, but her all-time favourite activity is quite a lot of ‘Mr Tumble’ – he puts a huge smile on her face. You might be required to take Lilly to hydrotherapy so you must be confident supporting a child in the water.
You will be able to step up to the mark when / if required but also have the sensibility to know when to step aside. Good hands on experience is essential, but integrity and honest communication skills are also vital.
