We are seeking a patient, caring and alert waking night carer to support Anna, 13 at night. Anna is a lovely girl who has very complex needs. She has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, epilepsy and is non-verbal and visually impaired. All her medication and fluids are administered via PEG, she is oxygen dependent overnight and might require occasional suctioning. Anna requires one to one, 24/ 7 care and has a dedicated team in place. Anna lives in a fully adapted house with her parents, siblings, Oliver, 10, (football lover who plays midfield), Emily, 5, (enchanting), a rather cute Guinea pig and two very loving dogs (Labrador and Labradoodle).
Your role will be to support Anna throughout the night and get her ready for school in the morning. You’ll be required to monitor her, administer medication and feeds and provide all aspects of personal care. Anna’s day start early; at about 2.00am, once Anna is up and dressed, she enjoys sensory activities like listening to the music and dancing in her standing sling. She absolutely loves Mr Tumble!
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated person to join a dedicated home care team and develop existing skills and support this very special little girl. Truly rewarding role with the opportunity to travel with the family on their summer holidays.
