Poppy is a lively, active little girl who lives in a busy and fun household, with her 3 siblings. Poppy has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Night time can be difficult for Poppy as she suffers from reflux and can she can have long periods of wakefulness and discomfort.

As Poppy’s waking night support worker / carer, you will play a very active role with her at night; assisting with her night feeds, encouraging a good sleep routine, trying to make her as comfortable as possible and to distract her when she is unwell, in pain, upset and unable to sleep. Poppy likes to play on her iPad, watch TV and have stories read to her at these times. A fully-equipped carer’s room is provided with a monitor to allow you to keep watch on Poppy at all times.

This job will suit someone who has a natural sense of fun, is confident, calm and patient. You’ll need to be creative and have the emotional maturity to be able to cope when Poppy is distressed, which can be for extended periods.

Your skills and confident, fun personality will enable this little girl to be as safe, comfortable and happy during the night as possible. You will have excellent support from a great case manager well-known to Snap, plus the opportunity to work additional day time hours.
