About this client/child:
Oscar, 6 is an energetic character who enjoys outdoor activities, physical play and engages in lots of repetitive behaviour. Oscar has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition, he is non-verbal but is very good at non-verbal communication and can use words to request with encouragement. He can occasionally present with behaviour which may challenging.

Overview of role:
As the On-Call Night Carer, you will support Oscar through his night-time routine and ensure he is not leaving his bedroom room which would wake up other family members. He may sleep through the night, but occasionally he can stay up for several hours. You will be experienced with establishing a good night routine and help Oscar to go back to sleep. The main goal is for Oscar to manage to stay in his room and sooth himself back to sleep if he wakes up. The night shift rate is £143.00 gross per night. If you are required to stay up for a prolonged period, the hourly rate will revert to £17.00 gross per hour. The hours of the shifts are 8.00pm to 7.00am. 2-4 nights per week available.

This interesting position will suit a patient and calm On-Call Night Carer with experience of setting up a good night routine. You will have experience supporting children who are non-verbal and display behaviour that may challenge. You will have a friendly, but also professional approach and understand the aspects and demands of working within a private family setting.  

What’s great about this job:
This is a permanent position to start immediately, with a competitive pay rate. You will be travelling with the family to their holiday house in East Sussex. The family spend holidays and national lockdowns there and you will be required to accompany them.
