Title: Personal Assistant (PA)

Wage: Up to £31,200.00 Gross per Annum. £15.00 - £20.00 Gross per Hour, Depending on Experience
Driver Essential? No
Essential: Experience supporting primary, secondary, or college-aged students/children in education, health or care, non-smoker/vaper
Desirable: Autism Spectrum Condition
Start Date: Mid July, will consider earlier/later start for the right candidate
Days & Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 8.00 am – 6.30 pm. Additional hours can be offered.

About this client/child:
Bobby is 16 years old. He has a range of different interests from playing drums to all things tech and is in a theatre group. Bobby has Autism Spectrum Condition and a mild learning disability. He is positive, sunny, and fun and has good communication skills. He needs support from someone who is empathetic, consistent, and interested in him. Bobby lives at home with his Mum and Dad in Northfields and attends an SLCN specialist school. We require an energetic, proactive, and engaging PA to assist Bobby after school and during school holidays.

Overview of role:
Bobby strives for and values his independence. He is keen to develop new skills to enable him to thrive and enjoy life safely. The PA will support Bobby in term time to prepare meals, do homework and organise himself. During holidays, the PA will help him visit attractions and venues, enjoy the community, participate in current hobbies and explore new interests. The PA will act as Bobby’s advocate, continually promoting his independence; the world is his oyster, and he wants to seize all opportunities!

Who this job would suit:
The Personal Assistant (PA) will be experienced in supporting children /young adults to live independently and access the world around them. For this role, you must have a current DBS (registered on the update service) or be willing to obtain a new certificate, through Snap (costs covered).
