About this client/child:
Mia (5 weeks), has been born prematurely by C-Section and had to have a heart surgery following which she suffered a brain haemorrhage. She requires nasal tube feeding, the acidity level of her stomach needs testing prior to any feed and her bottle feeds needs to be thickened. Mia lives at home with her parents and older brother Jack (3) who is at nursery in the mornings.

Overview of role:
We are looking for an experienced paediatric nurse with great complex needs experience, who will assist Mia’s family with her care and allow Mia’s mum to take a much needed rest after the complicated birth and difficult period following it. You will be fully engaged with Mia's daily routine, assist with feeds and any nursing duties. Initially we are looking for a temp staff for 1 week to allow Mia’s mother to have a rest, but this may lead into a permanent position for 2 nights/ days. Monday to Saturday 6 hours per day, hours can be flexible for the right candidate.

Who this job would suit:
This position will suit an experienced, confident and empathetic paediatric nurse, who has experience working with young babies, and ideally in a family home. You will be responsive and attentive at all times to Mia’s changing needs, and work in a way that respects the wishes of the family in relation to Mia's care.

What’s great about this job:
This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Nurse to utilise their skills in a warm family environment and provide 1:1 support for this special little girl and her family. Potential to evolve to a permanent 2 day a week post.

Client/Family met by Snap?
No. Discussed with Mia’s grandmother.
