Essential: Experience supporting a child with a learning disability, confident working in a family home  
Desirable: Makaton training and experience implementing therapy programmes
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Bank Contract. 1 or 2 shifts per week. Typical hours: Weekdays: 2.45pm – 8.00pm, additional hours available

About this client/child:
Our client is a lively, funny and chatty 7-year-old little girl who has Down’s syndrome. Molly is totally adorable, she loves dancing, telling stories and playing imaginative games. Molly is very independent however she can have episodes of fatigue which can affect her mobility. As Molly uses Makaton to support her verbal communication it is desirable to have some knowledge of this however training is provided for the right person.

Overview of role:
This is a great hands-on role, you will have the opportunity to work 1:1 with Molly, implement her therapies, assist with self-help skill and personal care duties,  take part in and plan fun and engaging social and leisure activities, complete school pick-ups, drop-offs to afterschool activities, prepare nutritious meals, assist with the bedtime routine and support Molly with her communication, behaviour, and self-regulation.
