Title: Temporary SEN Support Worker/ PA
Location: NW11
Nearest Tube/Station: Golders Green
Wage: Weekdays, £15.00 gross per hour / Weekends, £17.00 gross per hour
Driver required? Would be really useful during COVID 19 but not absolutely essential if candidates live locally.
Use of a car? Would need own car.
Essential: Autism and behaviour management
Start Date: ASAP
Finish Date: Beginning of September
Days & Hours: One scenario could be:  4 days per week, 6 hours per day. If one of those days could be at the weekend that would great. The family can be flexible and mutually agreeable about hours people are able to offer.

About this client:

Tom is 18 years old and passionate about films and writing. He has even published his first book. ‘Oliver Storm and The Great Disappearance’. Tom is autistic, he has great language skills. Tom is very physical and there are times, his behaviour can be unpredictable.

Overview of role:

At the moment the position will be on a temporary basis. In September Tom will start at a new school, so the hours will change, more details will be available nearer the time. For now, it is about supporting Tom with his daily routine, getting out and about depending on Tom’s mood. Tom loves to visit Oxford and enjoys visiting some Museums, but this might be limited due to the current COVID-19 situation. However, Tom likes to bake and cook – rather impressively he has cooked Pizzas and steak so far!

Who this job would suit:

You will have a genuine interest in films; you do not have to agree with Tom’s choice. To have someone who genuinely wants to watch and then discuss films and then help Tom write about them, would be ideal. You will be fit and healthy and able to keep up with Tom when you are out about town. You’ll have experience supporting clients who are autistic and have behavioural needs.

What’s great about this job:

Being in the company of a great writer and using your skills and experience with similar clients to enable Tom to enjoy life to the fullest.

Client/Family met by Snap?

Previously met as Snap has placed support workers with Tom before and we would so love to find him a great support worker again.
