Josh 8 is an active, engaging and sweet little boy who lives at home with his Mummy and Daddy. Josh has ASD, PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) and Sensory Processing Disorder. We are looking for a confident support worker / buddy with experience supporting children with ASD and behavioural needs to work with Josh initially on a temporary basis.
Josh loves learning and exploring especially if it involves insects, museums or feather hunting! Josh is currently setting up an entomology group (Yes, you read that correctly!) He would like to meet with likeminded children in his local library to share facts, stories and learn all about insects and zoology so this is certainly something he would need assistance with!
In this role you will provide 1:1 support for Josh to promote his independence, work on his social skills and use different techniques and strategies so he can manage his anxiety levels and self-regulation.
Ideally we are looking for a support worker / buddy with a background in behavioral support. Dad works full time and Mum is in part-time education / training so therefore this is a sole charge role although there might be an occasion when Mum joins in on trips or outings.
This is a wonderful opportunity to support an enthusiastic, energetic and sweet little boy. If you wish to be considered for this role, please apply today! Interviews are taking place asap.
