Start Date:ASAP
Days & Hours:Sunday – Thursday, 40 hours on average per week, 1-3 months

Kadir is a charming and very bright 16-year-old. He loves to swim, draw and paint, and has a great interest in politics and flags. Kadir also enjoys spending time with his younger brother who is 12, however there can be occasional sibling arguments. An additional member of the family is an adorable Desert dog, so you must be a dog lover!

Kadir has Autism, processing sensory disorder and suffers from anxiety. Kadir requires support with his emotional and social skills and can present with challenging behaviour. When anxious, he can resort to obstructive and oppositional behaviour and you will need to be skilled and sensitive to understand Kadir’s triggers and be able to diffuse and prevent challenging behaviour. Kadir attends a mainstream school, but often finds the environment overwhelming and needs to be picked up earlier or he may stay at home.

The candidate we are seeking will already be based in Dubai and have extensive experience with children or young adults with ASD and anxiety.  Working alongside an ABA therapist, you will implement a therapy programme into the daily routine and support him with his studies. The main goal is to help Kadir manage his anxiety, take part in everyday life and improve his social and emotional skills.

Your role will be to support Kadir with his educational and social needs either at school or at home. You will assist with his school work, organise and encourage play dates and social interaction with his peers. The family have a fabulous swimming pool where Khalid likes to spend time. This exciting position will suit a confident, energetic and patient candidate who will build a trusting and engaging relationship with Kadir.
