Seb, 9, is a bright and engaging boy who enjoys being outside on his tricycle and also loves being read to! He has cerebral palsy and developmental delay, which affects his mobility and head control. Seb is fed and has his medication administered via gastrostomy, uses Eye Gaze technology to support his communication. He is completely dependent on others for all of his personal care, feeding and mobilisation needs.
You will provide hands on support for Seb, assisting him with each daily task. You will promote his independence whilst encouraging and motivating him to reach his full potential, facilitating fun activities with his siblings and taking Seb out around London. As team leader you will be responsible for writing rotas, updating care and support plans, monitoring stocks and supplies, liaising with therapists and teachers, organising trips and holidays, training, staff supervision, team meetings and manage overtime sheets. You will need to confidently manage communication between the carer team and the family. In conjunction with the family and therapists, you’ll help compile and maintain the staff handbook, which assists in the smooth induction of new staff.
This warm and friendly family are looking for a proactive, flexible and confident Team Leader who can engage Seb in activities and creative play, support Seb through his therapies and manage all his care needs. This role is very much about working with Seb’s parents and the professionals who support him. Experience of working within a family home is desirable.
