Up to £19.50 Gross per Hour. Experienced Team Leader to manage a new care team providing 2:1 support for a charming young boy with cerebral palsy in WD7 area

 

 

 

 

Title: Team Leader | WD7

Wage: £18.50 Weekdays | £19.50 Weekends
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? On duty
Essential: Experience in a team lead or senior care role. Experience supporting a young client with complex needs, non-smoker/vaper and confident swimmer.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Full-time contract, includes working weekday and weekends. Additional hours available for team leader and admin duties. Term time Monday to Friday: 3.30pm – 9.30pm | Weekends and school holidays: 8.00am – 8.30pm. Marcus requires night support (2:1 on-call and waking) Night shifts will be available once the new family home (local) is fully adapted and ready to move into.

About this client/child:
Marcus is a very charming endearing child who is 10 years old and lives at home with his Mummy and younger brother Sam who is 7. Marcus also stays with his daddy two weekends a month and in the school holidays. Marcus has cerebral palsy, controlled epilepsy (with occasional absences), a visual impairment, severe developmental delay, and scoliosis. Marcus is non-verbal although he is currently learning how to use symbols and switches to support his communication. He is totally dependent on others to meet all his care needs requiring 2:1 support. His brother Sam has autism spectrum condition and you would be expected to work with both Marcus and Sam.

Overview of role:
Marcus requires full assistance; you’ll support him with all his developmental, therapy programs and personal care needs. You’ll plan fun and educational activities Marcus can enjoy both in the family home and out in the community as advised by his parents and therapists. This is a strong family unit and a busy family home with two young boys both with complex needs; it is essential you are can adapt to working with both Marcus and Sam and are inclusive in the support you provide to both boys.   

Supporting and managing his newly recruited team, you’ll be responsible for the typical team leader duties such as updating his care plan, rota management, team appraisals, supervision, training, ordering stock and organising his therapy and medical appointments. You’ll liaise with all the professional and multidisciplinary team involved in his care.

Who this job would suit:
A fun, bubbly, confident and experienced team leader, who is flexible and adaptable. You must have experience supporting a young client with complex care needs and also be comfortable supporting a child in water during hydrotherapy sessions.
