A challenging, but rewarding position is now available for an exceptional team leader to lead a hardworking care team. Samuel, 11, is a fun loving, engaging and mischievous chap who enjoys bike rides, swimming and playing games with his siblings. Samuel has cerebral palsy, is a wheelchair user and communicates using his computer; he requires support with all his care needs. Everyone who meets Samuel is quite captivated by him; he is a pleasure to work with.
The role involves leading a team of support workers who provide round the clock car, within the family home. You’ll ensure Samuel receives the care, play, education and therapy support he requires as instructed by his therapists. Typical team leading duties include completing paperwork, administrative tasks, writing and updating care plans, arranging rota’s, training and team meetings. Not only will you lead and manage the above tasks, you’ll also provide 1:1 support to Samuel. He is a very bright, independent and determined young man who knows what he wants and is very capable of expressing his needs.
This job will suit a dedicated, confident and passionate Team Leader who wants to make a real difference to this young man’s life. A strong communicator, who is personable, empathetic and understanding. Mum and Dad are actively involved in Samuel care; it’s essential you work alongside them, ensuring their views and wishes are both shared and respected when it comes to the care their son is receiving. Samuel requires a strong and robust team leader who will be his advocate. A person he can have lots of fun with whilst continually promoting his independence and giving the encouragement he needs to reach his full potential.
